  1. so, what you saying is they basically got nothing to do with the fuel efficency. I was thinking about the same thing too, but some internet says it does increase the power/efficency etc. if what you saying is ture, the question is answered then.
  2. My car smokes a lot at start, normal driving is smooth tho. the 1C engine has done about 300,000kms, burns(needs top up 2-3 times in 6month, I drive 400kms per week) and leaks(not to the ground) oil. Currently it does 550-570kms in town 40L tank. Has not changed glow plugs for few years I think. What if i change them, would it increase my fuel efficiency?
  3. Hey Jake bro thanks for the spare bedroom. I slept very well. and Yeh that Pub is great too. The Pizza we had is just tasty as the two blondes (18 and 21) who served us. Can we go back there next time??
  4. Dam, Really wish I can come, but i'm off to auckland soon. Well, is toyota welcomed?
  5. As I mentioned before, I kind of squeezed the drum back on, it can move but with significant drag. However, I also mentioned that even if there wasn't any drag force. The Brakes should adjust itself after 15mins driving, Correct?
  6. Disassembled the whole Left Front light Area, Can't find any earth wire. dam.
  7. Ok, I will have a look. but my high beam works while I just Flashing it. Doesn't work while I switch to it.
  8. Ok,Firstly, Thanks For those of you answered my previous questions and this one. The low beam, park light, high beam all work fine. The problem is on the switch( I assume). It works on normal driving(low beam on, park lights on, no high beam), also works on the flashing(High beam on while you press it). But While I switch my car on High beam, All the front lights(park,High, low beam) shut off. I assume I need to replace the Switch? Anyone got some experince with this?
  9. Sorry Boss, wasn't sure this quilifies as tech problem. Next time I will come here.
  10. I didn't know what you mean by footbrake still low. what I found is, I need to break very deep on my foot to get the brakes working efficiently. yeh, I did hand brake adjustment at last(adjusting the Screw on the Assembly part below the Brake Clyinder right??), I adjusted that the drum disk is just enough to move freely but with bit drag. BTW, I thought the H/B will adjust itself after I drove a bit anyway. No, I didn't do any bleeding as I didn't touch the Brake Cylinder.
  11. Miss interperated. What I meant was, the old shoes all four of them didn't have Lining on the Top at all when they were new(so yeh, all four of them had Same Lining Pattern). Do you read me?
  12. Did you see this? And, I didn't notice any leaks from the Brake Cylinder, so I just ignored it.
  13. Actually the task was Pretty easy just follow the manual. But what I mean hard was, the Springs were so tight, and I had to try multible times to just put the Hand Brake cable back on. And cleaning all the bits before put back on was time consuming as well.
  14. I followed the corolla workshop manual, The Rear Brake has More linings on Top, and the Front Brake has more lining on the Bottom. Yes?? BTW, All of the old brake shoes were on the car Had Less Lining on the Top, more Lining on the Bottom, So weird..
  15. Cool, thanks for that. How long do these brake shoes last normally? I got to say it is at least 3 times harder to do the drum brake than the Disk Brake.
  16. Ok, I done the brake shoes, scrapping sound all gone. they're working fine, hand brake is firm. But I don't feel much improvement on the foot brake. I noticed reverse braking is better than going forward, why?
  17. yeh, got one normal, one long nose. will give it a go tomorrow.
  18. I'm working on my diesel 1988 corolla wagon, CE90. Really, what kind of pliers?
  19. So some of you might know I'm doing my rear brake shoes myself, I watched some videos and have the workshop manual with me. so I'm very confident. Considering this is just one off job, it make sense to just borrow some of the tools I need. Any of you have the Brake shoes adjusting tool ? http://www.vektools.com.au/toledo-brake ... -7338.html and the Retain spring remove/install tool? http://www.vektools.com.au/powerbuilt-u ... -6051.html If not, who's selling the cheap brands? Thank you all in advance!
  20. Opened up the Drum today. Yeh,The Shoes are gone, now is just metal on metal. there are some deep mark on the Drum disk, but I think it's acceptable for this POS. Will trying to do it tomorrow or over the weekend. It looks bit complicated but I'm searching for videos and Pictures that similar to my drum brake.
  21. My question is what's the point to spend money on this POS? Need a AE86 Soon!
  22. Cheers guys, I know this is the place to come first when I need to do ANYTHING with my Car haha. will open it up tomorrow.
  23. Ok,my left Rear Brake Drum started to have some scrapping sound, specially when I brake lightly. also I noticed that the Left Rear tyre doesn't ski at all when I apply my hand brake, but the Right Rear Does. So I need to replace my Brake Shoes Now yeh? I know could be something else, like the Drum Disk and etc. That's why I come up here first before I go rush into it. Should I Open it up and Have a Look First? Update! Ok, I done the brake shoes, scrapping sound all gone. They're working fine but I don't feel much improvement brake wise. I noticed braking in reverse is better than going forward, why?
