Thanks guys. Needs to be on the road ASAP now cause I start a short course at Uni on Tue and still dont have a place to live in Hamz so will most likely be doing a lot of travelling. Fun Fun!! It will almost definately be at OS Nats in Taupo and most definately be at Beach Hop!!

Door surrounds and boot painted today. Rest of the car painted tomorrow after having doors, bonnet and boot lid fitted

Cortina went back to panel and paint on monday. They were right into it. had three guys working on it and was ready for the painter by the end of the day. Painter had it all sanded back to 320 fast as. A bit of work in the bonnet. Primer on today. Ive been scrubbing my wheels ready for fresh paint. Hopefully he will be in the booth for final painting tomorrow!!

Cortina just been delivered to me with engine bay and dash painted!! Panel beater closed until the 18th Jan 2010 so have 3 weeks to put motor etc in.

Well the panel beater reckons he will need a good 2.5 days to get it perfect for painter. Gonna go in tomorrow and see if they can get the engine bay and dash painted first so that we can at least carry on putting it back together. But wont be painted by Christmas unfortunately. Better off to spend the time getting it perfect and be happy with the result rather than rush and regret rushing it. Spent my afternoon masking and starting to paint my motor. Plan for tomorrow is to carry on painting motor and sanding a couple wheels to repaint them at same time.

Yuss here he is off to the paint shop Panel beater called in last night to check out what we had been doing. He was very impressed. He said most people dont make it as far as we did on their own. I shouldnt really take so much of the credit...My dads been getting into the block sanding and absolutely loves learning and likes to do as much as he can himself. Hes actually the best Dad in the world

Sanding sanding more sanding, more paint, more sanding...how long does this take?? I been hanging at the Mt today dreaming of driving my cortina every time I saw a classic drive by...I just want it to be on the road now! Im missing the summer cruises!

Goal is to be on the road by Christmas. So yes, summer cruisin is something to look forward to. Was Primed in my dads workshop rather than the painters workshop. He doesnt have his own mask so we make use of what we have. They were better than nothing!!

Primer on today. We put a tint in the last primer coat. Looks mean... Maybe i should do it cheap and just chuck the clear over top of this!!!

Rear guards rolled, all panel beating complete, no rust, bog finished (until we see more hollows after next coat of etch), Etch #2 on last night, Primer going on this avo. The ball is rolling!! Pics later

There's alwasy more rust then what you think though right? It's all pretty easy to deal with. Dads almost a pro at welding now G what would I do without him?? Mustang is 67 convertable. That was his first project. He came back from the mustang convention, Labout Weekend, in New Plymouth with a 3rd place in his section. So he did well considering he wasnt expecting anything and didnt know exactly what the judges were checking. Your olds part of the muzzy club??

So the front is all welded on. The boot lid is on. The bonnet is on. The race is on! Started the bogging. Short term goal is to have all bogging done by end of this week. Etch primer fri night and primer x3 on Sat 14th Nov. Long term goal is to be on the road for Christmas. You guys reckon it can be done?? Both rear guards were rusty so got new edges on them This corner got fixed up And while I had my head close to the floor I got a snap of my diff...hehe
