  1. Nah was an old trick back in the day, you'd get pink stickered, then go to the post office and get new plates for the car. Scrape the sticker off, no dramas. Rego is still on hold on my car.

Have heard you have to do this straight after getting stickerd now, if you go in and try get plates on a car thats been stickerd and its loaded into the system they wont issue new plates.

*I have only heard this can't verify that its fact*

  2. Had snells springs in auckland do my escort springs.

Springs now have next to no shape in them (lowerd as much as possible)

Problem was they inverted. Added one extra very thick leaf, still inverted under extra weight.

Purchased second set of factory springs, cut every leaf from second set to a size between standard length(hope this makes sense),

now rock some very flat very low escort leafs that dont invert - snells were pretty awesome with there help and several goes at setting to right height.

PS have to rock 10mm bump stop and still only have about 20-30mm of travel so this might be a little bit excessive for some.

But using a second set of springs was a very cheap option for adding more leafs/stiffing suspension.

  3. You need the note saying why the car has been stickerd by the police otherwise VTNZ will fail you on your exhaust even if its factorry, which requires you to get a exhaust cert(monies).

The police can sometimes help you with giving you a copy of this but its something you should try find out if you can get the infridgement notice from either the seller or police first.

    (just went through this)

Failing this a new razor blade removes stickers from windscreens pretty well.
