Hey I am doing a auto to manual swap, but have the old manual engine which doesn't have a bush to reuse.
Have lubed the inside of the seal its super, super tight
Cheers I'll sort out the getting the bush on Monday!

Ok so next n00b question
I have purchased a new rear main seal from repco, looks ery similar or the broken up original one that's been removed, same outer diameter and very similar thickness.
Problem is I don't have a proper measurement of the inner diameter as the original one came apart on the inside while being removed and I can't get the new one over the end of the crankshaft.
So my problem is it appears I have the right seal but I can't get it over the end of the crank, should this be difficult to do or do I have the wrong seal?
cheers!
/ I fail at mechanics

It's a standard off the shelf bush which fits a number of nissans.
Cheers
/have you ever tried telling a repco staff member your after a standard bit that fits most nissans? (have you got the rego... sorry no listing for that part, I can't help)

Hey just pulled a (manual)gearbox off the back of a 280zx engine, it appears there was no spigot bearing there? should there be one? Repco doesn't have a listing and my engine didn't have one, starting to wonder if there should be one?
Assuming some of you experts out there will just know?
Also if there is do any of you pros no a part number?
Thanks

edit: No. Modern vehicles will always be a safer option

no modern vehicles will always be a safer option/
a full chasis vs modern vehicle = safe
but a full chasis vs something that doesn't absorb impact = super unsafe

I've worked for a few places that do rust repairs and I sometimes do rust repairs for people myself, never heard of any one ive worked for using a disclaimer/I havn't and never plan to.
/Just do a good job It wont rust out in a amount of time where it would be fair to argue.
