Went and brought new king springs for the front, seems to have fixed the problem, the old springs appear to be the same when out also the leafs appear to be exactly the same when out... I can only guess one of the old front springs has worse sag than the other?

So I swapped my front springs, this seemed to heave helped/almost fixed my problem... even though the lean was at the rear.

No I'm not sure, the car is permantly on a lean, when someone sits in the passengers seat the left drops a little but if someone sits in the right the right drops alot on top of the fact its already lower. I'm considering buying some kingspring superlows for the front, perhaps I should buy them and see what happens?

Hi guys, my escort wagon is on a lean(lower on drivers side). Failed its WOF on this today, I already knew about this problem before wof, I have tried swapping the rear leafs over as the lean looks to be at the back more than the front(the leafs have also been reset and had new leafs added in at snells not so long ago), all the shocks are new... anyone have any ideas what i can do?

Yea I wanted to know about using the datsun crank but I have spoken to a couple people and its not a cheap thing to do so I'll give it a pass.

Stroking it is what i wanted to know more about but spoke to a couple ppl on the phone sounds like a real expensive way to go, ill just stick my original plans of 60thou over on standard crank. Thanks guys

whats involved in rebuilding the engine? a comprehensive list?
What I'm part way through doing to my mk1
Hardend oversize stainless steel valves
Stainless steel valve seat
Valves fitted with dual angel seats
Head face machined
Port and Polish
Cam kit (keepers, followers and retainers)
Alloy Rocker Cover
Block sonic tested, bored and machined
New oversized High Compression pistons
New water pump
New High pressure and high volume oil pump
Electronic fuel pump
Electronic ignition(megajolt)
Then theres the intake and exhaust to do, I've sorted my exhaust and want to sort out my intake now, if anyone has any exp on side or down drafts I'd love to hear from you, i hav heard sides dont fit in to well.

Zetecs cheap as chips, its the modding that'll get cha depends on what you wanna do with the engine but any early black top zetec would be mint. The new duratec is the same as zetec just with a alloy block that apparntly isnt as good at putting the power through and putting up with the same thrashing. Search burton power on google, they will sell you everything you need for the conversion, you can just look at there pics and have a go at making it yourself or get some local fabricator to for you.
Another option could be rebuild the kent, beleave me 3k doesnt even go that far on rebuilding one seriously. A reasonable build on the kent will see you over 100hp with excellent throttle responce, also avoids getting a cert as wel as being cool nd old school.

sure... I dont have a camera but ill try get one sorted for you and post some pickies, it was pretty simple I got a universal kit from supercheap.

If your after security then just disconnect the locks (dont think you can shave them off as they are in the handle?) and install an alarm with central locking, all my cars for the last 4 years have been like that. Never once been locked out either.
There not in the handle, I have a alarm installed and nearly finished putting in the central locking. Your doing very well not being locked out, im not that brave, i want a back up.

but mazda 323/ford laser ones may fit
They might if you were to do some modding which im trying to avoid, I was told solex did do a generic one. I was hoping that someone had a lock to fit the car just because I'm lazy and dont want to waste hours tinkering around with my locks

Hi guys, I want to change my mk1 escorts doors locks with something a little safer as currently anything that can fit in the hole will unlock the car. Solex dont do door looks for escorts anyone else know a good brand that might?

Dan these are the ones i made for my wagon I made the rubber stoppers adjustable by drilling a hole & welding a nut on then brought some bump stops from canterbury transport spares just down the road for us .. I foun d it better to be touching but it pulled way better skids if you wound them of the spring a bit..

I thought so to as that would stop the diff winding up on the springs...
still travels fine mate just pivots at end with the bump stopsHow does it pivot? does it cause the diff to wind/roll?

I had a 4age in an escort before with twin 40's and cams. Id say it was disapointing but id get my head bitten off!
2l Zetec with Sierra 5speed box and link ecu would be doable for 3g id say and it keeps it FORD!
I'd say Zetec, they look awesome in and yea keeping it ford and if u decide to chuck even more money into it you can buy some real hot stuff from like burtons for it.

Pull the dash out and wire all warning lights into the oil warning light... keep your oil good and you should never have a problem with any warning lights again XD
