gidday guys. I'm not to sure where to put this, feel free to move it to its appropriate form.

I don't know much about the engine and cant find much about it over the internet,

But my friend has a 3sgte celica sitting out the back of his house and he wants to get rid off it, the engine receives fuel and air. but there's no spark(engine does turn over).

Any help on this would be gratly appreciated.

Also are there any rwd gear boxes that bolt strait up? or do i have to get a custom bellhousing etc etc?

Ive been looking around for a brake upgrade for the old mk4 cortina.

id like to convert the rear to disk brakes,and 5 stud all round and maby bigger disks or calipers in the front?, but have not found any info what so ever.. so any info would be grate.

thats cool mate

the trigger wheel is a wheel with teeth all the way around but with 1 normaly missing

you bolt/weld this to you crank pully.

make up a braket for the CAS (crank sensor ) so that its in line with your

trigger wheel and then you can do away with your dizzy

but if you do choice to take the dizzy out alltogether

if its a pinto make sur you cut up and old dizzy to go back i the hole

or your oil pump want work.

but i have seen a few with the dizzy just left in place.

and as for coil packs you can use them off subarus,fords,or even 4 gt coils.

its a good way to do things mate

if you can get your hands on a mondeo that someones

scrapping you just want the trigger wheel and CAS

then you can just run coil packs aswell

vehicles: 1975 datsun 120y. 1979 ford mk4 cortina. a 1986 hilux surf. and a home made go cart built from a car..

120y is currently in bits getting a chassis rebuilt. surf is not running, with 35'' wheels ,4'' lift and 14psi coming from a 2.4 turbo deisel..

cortina is stock standard with a stereo and not running right!.

And thats about it?

what is the colour of your oil?milky?

any oil in your radiator?

does it use water/oil?

Theres no oil in the radiator but it is using a little bit of oil...

i just did a oil change on wednesday. but oil is fine?

gidday. I thought i better introduce my self.

Well i'm Jase i'm 16 and i'm based in rotorua north island, and have currently brought my self a 1979 mk4 cortina 2l.

It has done 149.000 original ks.

warrented and registerd.

But now i have run into a few problems.

The accelerator pump diaphram is leaking, so i have brought my self a gasket set, i am just waiting for it to arrive.

also i think the valve guides and rings are about to give way as it blow's a big cloud of white smoke wen starting, and a little white smoke wen accelerating.

It is also missing quite badly, I have not been able to find the problem of this,

I have been told it could be a hole in the manifold or a vacume hoes or somthing like that, but i have checked and it's not one of them. i have changed spark plugs and leads and it is still missing.

Any help on this would be grate.
