  1. i've heard cf bedfords are pretty lush...

    ^ This

Also my vote will alway's be for The VW transporter TD, the world has never seen such a good van A++

I did over 200 000 k's in one and only ever suffered a blown turbo seal, admittedly I was running 22psi..

Same van now over 600k and still looks factory fresh inside and it handles like a road car, unlike the Hiace I might add.

  2. ^ Or soak in hot wated and surf, try and get as much of it out of the head then put a litre of diesel in the oil and try and run it through.. It's not looking good for you tho bro, i'd get a wanted ad up for a motor, as some good c*nt will have something better than that. I am guessing it is a smoker as well.. Imagine how blocked the oilway's are.

  3. Why america for a dizzy? Heaps around locally, I'm looking at a box of them here

Do this, get 2.2 Turbo version from a Tomcat and boost it up, easy conversion, the V8 conversion is a prick of a thing, trust me. I have done a couple for customer's, one still uncompleted after 6 years as rails, floor and transmission tunnel and boot floor need modification to make it work properly.

Cool car dude, big fan of the mighty B

  4. Top end lubrication taps, used for dropping oil down the ports and hopefully making it down to the guides..

About 6:1 compression on these old girls, so decompression not usually needed. Useful tho for seeing which cylinder isn't firing. Open each one in turn when running and watch the flames pop out 8)

Shell bearings on that motor too, advanced for the day..

  5. Work a 1600/ save heaps of hassle, make same power.

Been there done the pinto thing, sad that a perfectly good Cortina/Sierra and a perfectly good escort die to make a car that handles horrid without mods for the extra weight, and makes not much more power for the effort involved.

I'd go with gaz's suggestion and go Ca18 and equivalent brake upgrade, sounds a good one

  6. So, Turns out the parts car for my VW K-70 project is way better than the one I was restoring, 20 000 miles since new, yellow with mint blue interior. Even has the blue plastic on the kickplates from factory and drives like a new one.

The problem, the back bumper is pushed into the boot, along with the taillight's and the rear panel, hence no go since the 80's

What I need is someone who is good with the chassis puller, I think most of it will come out with the right equipment.

Problem is no one wants to do that part of the job but not the rest- or take me seriously.

Any GC's that have access / skills who want a good cash perk?? Or can anyone reccomend someone to talk to?

Will put a pic or two up tomorrow so you can all see the carnage.

now that is a find! So jealous I couldn't make this, I bet everyone would have been bored to death with my vintage car ramblings..

1912-21 Vulcan 20-25hp motor, about three litres, rare beast but they sold well here in NZ. There was even plans to open a factory for them here in NZ about 1908, A twin cam six was made as early as '26 and a prototype V8 was made around the same time.

    Should look like this

Where the rest of it? I want that engine polished up and in my lounge

    Rad photo's by the way

  8. Fuck history repeats.. I had same issue with 180B back in the oldschool, melted fusebox was result. wiring loom had been rubbing at the bulkhead and a relay had stuck (voltage regulator?) from memory. Blew my headlamp bulbs as well. I say follow your nose to the melted wires..

has anyone yanked the stereo out recently? probably some wiring atrocities behind dash
