if it's going rrrrrr, i'd imagine it's a stripped gear, should be an obvious noise tho, if all other gears are working properly, 100% certain it's a clutch issue. replace <3

Chemicals are available here also, but these kits come highly recommended by others.

you need to do rings mate, true story. Otherwise just degrease every weekend and/or make a catch tank setup
-
attack the parts with grinder mounted scotch pads, polish with wet and dry and do your own electroplating you wuss.
Old girlfriend of mine chromed up a load of datto parts in an old bathtub with good results

Mount a stabiliser mount further up and bolt to head or similar? that would be my suggestion.
That or get a mount with a cage on top with rubber mounting top and bottom, look at heavy front drive V6 mounts at pick a part.

Heard a rumour you had brought these.. Funny how word gets round, love riding these 500's nothing, nothing, nothing then BrRRRRRRRRAaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Sweet cars, had a couple myself. Both blue and GLT's, one I did the sneaky 2.3 turbo swap with.
Piece of piss to do, bolt up and just some trickery with the exhaust and boom, skids on..

The whole concept of a 'reliable' daily does not sit well with me, pretty sure all of us own spanners and are more than capable.
Please take to pick a part and replace with something carburettored, preferably with pushrods and rear drive. Or something massively impractical and slam a diesel in it, or buy something european and exotic with 498543 valves, and a cambelt made from knicker elastic- spaghetti wiring and start living the dream.

it's a toyota, burn it

Yeah, go see Roy McGuinness, I'm not a LMVD anymore..
Also Roy's valuations are really worth something to insurance companies, they recommend him to clients. He's been doing it nearly 40 years and in that time they have never questioned any of his valuations as he is honest but fair.
Tell him James sent ya.

Apart from the technical yahoo of welding aluminium and steel, can someone explain the point of a half alloy and steel subframe? Quicker death in an accident? Thought Honda already held that record..

please don't put a hammer anywhere near it. Good way to fuck everything surrounding the nut including yourself. Use strong arm bar as stated, use a jack handle if you need more leverage. Get heaps of height and make sure it's secure as stated, it will come off.
If it is really stuck which I doubt, put strong arm bar horizontal to floor in direction of rotation, drop onto ground and get someone to help you push it backwards

Pretty sure I had dibs on this, remember this car from the Hillman club, pretty sure the guy who owned it was into conspiracy theories and running cars on water etc :/
Don't go too low, I done it before on a Super Minx and it was awful and chewed up now stupidly hard to find suspension bits, jus sayin..

make a good door stop, otherwise nah don't risk it. Scrap bin.

Keen to see no modern car motors or multi valve per cylinder bike motors, not in the spirit of cyclecars..
exposed working parts and likelyhood of death should be a requirement tho..

This is actually pretty sweet, nice to see a rust free survivor. Best be whipping it round here asap when it arrives..
Shitroen runs sweet now, some electrical tape on the injector wiring and it's all go

That place is far too new, you need a post apocalyptic asbestos factory to move into with a indoor racetrack around flaming drums of pallets and car tyres. Railway workshops?

Has period instructions on how too build a cyclecar.

why car not go into first gear??

but you can get it into first and drive it right? Hard to diagnose things when they aren't in front of ya. Have you tried putting it in gear with the motor off, then starting with the clutch in and trying to take off? If it moves forward on it's own, clutch. if it moves forward as normal, synchro issue. If it fails to move and makes the noise, gear is stripped. therefore box most likely ruined. Sounds unlikely to me tho, all the other gears would have suffered from debris damage.
