  1. thanks, you need to get a thread going of your lancer im lacking inspiration at the moment as nothing i buy comes through as the right part 1st time and every job i do im lacking the tools to do it, so more 79's would be sweet also didnt you say you had some full chrome bumpers, where did you get them? also sorted the 2 motor issue i now have 1 mean motor to play with

  4. got a mate in the uk who's dropping a 3sge into his 86 hes got a motor and 6speed but no clutch and flywheel just wants to know what variations there were on the flywheels on the different motors any help apreciated
  5. as usual with my luck, couldn't find a motor anywhere so brought one in Tauranga, then today i find a guy less than 1k from my house has one in his garage that he wants rid of, so if any of you would like a 63 dohc for $250 let me know asap before i have it sent down
  6. using a good quality variable polisher (rupes by choice) Farecla G3 polish and farecla compound sponge for 1st cut farecla super soft polishing sponge (cant remember its name) and 3M finnesse it for 2nd cut wax of your choice applied twice a day for 3 days will make your paint minty fresh for years as for polishing off your paint with a cutting compound by hand, unless your paint is already turning into the primer below then you will be there for aloooooooooong time for light scratches or dense light scratches(years of car washes) use a 3M trixac pad of 2000-3000 grit and lots of water (by hand), with a good paint surface it will also take forever to rub the paint off with these for orange peel you could use wet and dry but i prefer to use a 2000 trizac pad in an air operated DA buff the whole area to a dull sheen then start from the top of the page and always remember WATCH THE EDGES! ive used this method hundreds of time (literally) and have turned oh fuck (bad) to ooo fuck (good)
  7. dont worry mickey mouse is staying under the car inside will be all black with a hint of black and the engine bay will be colour matched yellow and a few small blue details like the spark lead cover ect
  8. i thought that all megajolts were the same apart from either having tps or map? they only list those 2 kits on the site i was going to use
  9. i fugures that if i have an offensive enough colour sceme then it might distract the wof guys from any real problems hahaha i was planning in going megajolt or megasquirt for the ignition preferably megajolt as it removes the temptation of slapping on injectors and a turbo so if anybody has one for sale (actually i need 2 one for my dads x-flow) then i may be interested
  10. ok so i got one harness fitted today, im not sure where the other one is, its been in the post for about a week and i measured up for the spacers i need for my hack-a-strut job im doing apart from that not much progress.

  12. oh so your that guy could have put a new gearbox seal, in ive got a nice wee puddle under my car now haha just kiddin its coming out to be steamed and sealed anyway and have the push for 5th shit removed
  13. ive got a rear bumper but im using it you can have it once i find a nicer looking gone to fit on there, mine are the rubber capped ones and i want the full chrome ones are you after any other parts?

  16. hey look like im not alone on this venture then if you plan on doing the starion brake up grade its a fair bit more work than i i thought it was you have 2 options the starion springs are too wide for the lancer strut towers so..... 1. (the way im doing it) the lancer struts need to be ''un-welded'' from the hubs (i cut through the hub just above the weld) then the starion struts need to be cut of at the top of the hub and a spacer made to shim the difference out, then weld the lancer strut into the starion hub im getting a certified welder to do the welding just incase i come into any doubts from the cert guy you can then use the lancer springs and its all hokey pokey 2.(the easy way but im an awkward cunt) convert the starion struts to the generic coil over kits wow wasn't that one hard i had already payed for the lancer springs when i started the conversion so No.1 was cheaper for me either way just bolt the ball joint from the lower arm into the bottom of the starion hub and your away Note: the starion hub has a longer steering arm bracket thing im not sure how this affects the car yet i haven't got that far
  17. been there done that fed up with turbo's i want to keep the car tidy and simple so a set of carbs eliminated lots of horrible wiring and im sure i can keep the mj ignition system quite hidden the rule for my engine bay is, if it doesnt need to be in there it wont be

  19. not a full on race car just a street car that can handle track abuse trying to locate a 2l twin cam to fit in as the one i had lined up seems to have vanished have a set of R1 carbs ready to be fitted to the engine i don't have aswell as for the sounds i have it turned down most of the time my ears can handle all that bass
  20. new starion struts that im going to hack up to fit the lancer thats about it for now apart from havening a harness to fit and the correct springs
  21. a little bit of my 'sadact' side pink sway bar using my handy bonnet pin drying rack system bolted it all up, my color scheme isn't every ones cup of tea. speaking of tea...
  22. constipating on tail pipe position haha i make it look soo hard linked the 2 parts together so i can make the twist on a bench not on my back in awkward positions yes i know some of the pipe is 2.25"(magoo) and some is 2.15"(toyota camry) but i saved a fair bit of money and its only the tail pipe after the final muff so i don't think it really matters gutted the rear painted this stuff on, the most fantastic stuff ever, you try to be real careful and an hour later you look like they guy off the marmalade jar new leafs 2.5" drop and have an extra center leaf for stiffy goodness eww yumm, smurf diff
  23. fixed a wee dent and drilled for pins primed it final coat? im not sure also the chrome stripe from the side and the sill trim has been sent to storage in landfill brought some of this stuff and some cobra supa lows springs were wrong so they went back the strut inserts i brought 3 months ago were also wrong so if anybody wants starion monroe gt inserts pm me standard pea shooter Vs. 2.25" mandrel pipes thats how i do it hahaha duck tape, card board and a hammer
  24. just tightening up the strut towers as 30 year old mild steel has a tendency to creak and twist haha strut bar comes later (when i can be arsed to make it) pulled out some skanky moldy carpet (notice the sound system in the back) scraped some old crap off the floor apparently its sound proofing to me its just 20kgs of unnecessary horse crap and tar seal after alot more heating and scraping (and a wee paint on the bar metal) got some new seats currently being road tested by my mate dave (my sisters monkey) finished scraping the sound deadening up and painting any random color over the bare metal
