Thanks heaps for that.

Anyone have any comments on ZH Fairlane I have been watching on TM? Don't care about bad gas mileage I would expect that with big old V8. Specifically wondering about common rust, weak areas (engine/driveline/trans/suspension etc) and general pluses/minuses of ownership. Ride quality experience would be appreciated too!

Options for build apparently include under car neons. I thought chromies were only for a certain sector of society.

Yep yep but they definitely say "on a road" therefore if you do that on private property you are not comitting an offence.

Reckless/Dangerous driving is ok offroad too according to the Land Transport Act (Section 7 is about reckless/dangerous driving). In saying it's ok you aren't committing an offence according to the Land Transport Act.
-
(1)A person commits an offence if the person—
(a)operates a motor vehicle recklessly on a road; or
(drives or causes a motor vehicle to be driven on a road at a speed or in a manner which, having regard to all the circumstances, is or might be dangerous to the public or to a person; or
©without reasonable excuse, contravenes section 22 by failing to stop and ascertain whether any person has been injured, after an accident where no other person has been injured or killed.
(2)If a person is convicted of an offence against subsection (1),—
(a)the maximum penalty is imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 months or a fine not exceeding $4,500; and
(the court must order the person to be disqualified from holding or obtaining a driver licence for 6 months or more.
(3)The imposition of a mandatory disqualification under this section is subject to section 81.

Can you find out who the cop was that came and spoke to the landowner? If so ring the cops up and ask them if they can clarify the information passed on by the landowner because you would hate to break the law unknowingly. The only thing that could apply would be the noise being a nuisance. If you had to obey road rules on your own property quads and shit would need warrants and 14 year olds wouldn't be able to drive the old mans tractor.
That would be like getting done for indecent exposure if your neighbour looked through your window and saw you having a wank during shortland street.

A182 = non turbo/live axle starion. Pretty rare.

If you do indeed find a couple of sets I am very keen for one too!

Driver's seat all the way aft then prepare to spend some time swearing on your back.
Sorry I don't know you but this deserves a "reminds me of your mum" joke.

I used Captain Transporter from Gisborne to Whangarei. They were good right through the process, good communication and as far as I recall were the cheapest. Car was an old low Merc that started and stopped. Might be more expensive if its a non runner.

Thanks guys.

Just replacing some bits of the fuel line on the starion and I need some flare nuts for 3/8" line and also some an-6 fittings for the braided section from hard line to pump. Where's the best place to buy these individually?

I have an impending wedding in January and I'm looking for a sweet car for it. Anyone have any suggestions as to how I would get hold of a sweet preferably v8 from the 70's that would sound awesome and look good in photos? Not looking to drive it and willing to pay good money for a few hours of time.
If any of you guys know anyone who would be keen or have the means to do it hit me up with a PM. I've got a starion and an old merc we're possibly going to use but would be keen on something that can hold a few more people. I'll let you do a skid in the starion if you can hook me up!
Cheers
David

Stoked you got it back. Been watching since your first post and doubled back on a parked white r34 here in Whangarei just after your first post but was obviously not the one (not a very common car up here). Had a chuckle about the drawing of the cock - he'll know what one of those looks like over his shoulder soon enough.
