It shouldn't be a law, it's fucking madness. I can't understand how anyone can think this is acceptable.
It's a slippery slope
ok fair enough it'll fix the cruising and all that carry on but I'm with lowlancer, its insane that they are controlling our movements. Had to read the Handmaids tale for english at school and anyone whose read it can surely see where I'm coming from, sure its just cruising now and then other little things that everyone doesnt care about because its stopping a bigger 'problem' but thenthey bring out more laws and bam we can't do anything at all
-
even though it doesnt affect me as I'm no where near chch and If I was i wouldnt be 'cruising' but the principal annoys me a bit, is a bit of a breach in human rights imo
-
I'm assuming you mean an automatic with the selector on the column, but sounds like you've got a dicky inhibitor switch, pretty common problem on older cars
-
I'm thinking I'll just change to mechanical advance rather than have it running like shit at different points
-
As i said in the project thread I'm just doing it for fun and dont want to gain mega hp, but yeah I'm not sure how to get around the advance issue, unless changing dizzy would be the way to go, but then what to?
-
sorry for the high jack but I've just brought an sc12 for the hq and am wondering if i'm best to run it draw through or blow through and what sorta carb I'm gunna need to run
-
have had a few overheating issues but hopefully thats all sorted now, Am now looking at supercharging her, just for fun, not wanting serious power or anything and yes I know it;d be better just to drop in a v8 but I reckon a supercharged 202 would be lush, I've got an sc12 on its way, but any advice on what to do or not to do would be sweet, I have a rough plan but suggestions would be mint
-
keen to make the trip up for it, however will no doubt get lost
-
from memory I paid 8 bucks a roll, If I was to do it again I'd probably go and buy some of the good stuff from your local friendly sign writer to save you from doing it all again in a few months
-
when I did mine they came out mint, no creases or bubbles, the problem is I too brought cheap stuff off trademe and after about 3 months they had faded majorly and now (about a year later) you can barely tell there's a film on there at all

I took the holden from matamata to napier on friday, she overheated twice on the way down, so flushed the radiator and block with the garden hose, drove it, still dumped all its water out the overflow, then noticed a lil steam from the exhaust but no water on dipstick and thought head gasket so dropped a cylinder head sealer in as a temporary fix, still over heated probably quicker than before i have checked the water pump is ok, gave the radiator another flush and got a fair bit of crap out of it and it seems to drive ok but lost a lil bit of water so am still wondering if its the head gasket. what do you guys reckon??
-
well she's all legal as of today,so will now definately be making the trip home on friday night for meanee swapmett

I've had noise control turn up to a party in a semi rural area on the napier taupo road right next door to a truck stop at 7pm while we were still eating dinner, the stereo was on quiet enough to talk over yet they still told us if they came back 3 times they had to take the stereo. they came back another 2 times after we turned it up a bit but the guy said that it wasnt too loud so just let us off. I just dont get why they complain about a little noise when they choose to live right behind a truck stop where trucks are pulling in and out at all times of day and night

Who's gunna be there?
I'm going for the weekend, never been before so dunno where the good spots are etc
-
i've been using a thing called soft seal, seems to work mint, however I dunno what its worth or where you get it, I get it through my old man
-
so I took her for a wof the other day, failed on a tie rod end, a piece of fuel line that needs replacing, some surface rust on the brake lines and some surface rust on the firewall/top of the bulk head so nothing major or expensive which I'm pretty stoked about. I'd like go to an electric ignition and bigger coil but I'm not sure what to use, would a dizzy out of a blue motor do it?? and what sort of coil would be a good one to go to?
-
yeah mate the dx stays mainly cause its reliable as anything and I'd miss having a wagon for too many reasons
-
lol, you can make a show on me if you like, i drive a matt black hq, drink lion red, love metal and am an apprentice panel beater
^^ Do this. Jason is probably the truest bogan out of the whole oldschool community.
cheers mate will take that as a compliment
-
will put pics up next time i"m at the olds to take some
-
I built my own chopper just using an old raleigh 20 frame and other bits and pieces
-
it has extractors and a full exhaust not exactly sure what size but would be around 2 inch, what sort of electric ignition would be the go?
-
What sorta carb would be a good upgrade from the standard? also what sorta stuff would you guys be doing with the motor after I've done the usual oil change etc
-
hopefully should have a wof by the end of the week, am thinking of trying to get a bit more go out of the motor even though it already goes bloody well, the old owner said he thought it had a lumpy cam etc so wouldn't mind figuring out what else its had.
-
agreed but as i said before no one was forth coming with money so we had to fork out for everything virtually, you really don't wanna know how much it's cost us as it is
