I'd be using an air buff with those 36 grit roloc disks, make take some time but a lot less cahance of f*cking the wheel/taking them back
-
sucks about the wee accident bro, will have a gawk this weekend, between me n the flatmate we can probably help ya out
-
yup kk have got the springs from jb, just havent got round to putting them in yet as the car is in napier and me in matamata lol will get there eventually, dont have any for the rear yet so no big hurry lol.
safety etcnot too worried as the grill is set far enough back that you'd be hard pushed for it to hurt anyone even if you run straight into someone but meh we'll see if I get hassled.
-
So just a little update for now, the grill was pretty stuffed so went for the barbed wire "effect" am pretty stoked at how it turned out and imo fits with the car so i'm happy
also got sick of grabbing the thread on the shifter so I knocked this together
and then thought hey I'll make one for the indicators to match
-
basically am needing to get the wagon low as its been far too long at 4x4 spec but buying springs is proving a lil more difficult than I thought apparently there's 3 different sizes listed under 50mm drop but I cant have the car off the road long enough to take the springs out and measure them, so if anyone knows the dimensions of an 87 ke70 2 door wagon spring they would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
JK

OK there are plenty steel craftsmen up that way.
Keeping it in the "OS family" I believe Matamata panelworks can do them JasonK from here works for them.
But these guys here would be your next port of call..

would be great to see some pics of the end job..
I'm not sure if we do them or not lol we dont have a louvre machine but could do them by hand I'd say, will ask on monday

as I said ealrier in the thread we use rotorua, the cars look aawesome when they're done, asked the boss toady about any paint falling off problems etc and he said that they've done full resto's that way for 10 years+ and have not once had a problem, would definately go this way if I had the money
-
Yeah we use the place in rotorua at work just had no idea what it cost
If you put a bit of work there way, maybe have a word with the boss there about a cashy
hmmm true will try suss that out
-
yeah 5k will fit, has been done plenty of times. have you checked out www.club-k.co.nz
-
Yeah we use the place in rotorua at work just had no idea what it cost, will get hold of some paint stripper and just use that and elbow grease, not sure about the sand/media blasting surely you get a fair bit of warping on bigger panels
-
hmm maybe I'll stick to the sander and strippng disk
-
Does anyone know how much it costs? and where I could get it done? am thinking of getting the EK done
-
Are you saying you wanna transplant but you dont want fuel injection??
-
I agree with RUNAMUCK, plus with going fibreglass from the outset you wont have to worry so much about the panels warping (if your wanting to go for a decent finish etc)
-
lots of cars do get written off due to sill damage but the damage is a lot worse than this is. This would be a real simple repair if it did fail anyway
-
as log as the door opens and closes easily I cant see it being too much of an issue although it does depend on how picky your wof man is.
-
is this still a go?
-
thats strange, I've been at a party where cops have shown up, told us to leave so I in all seriousness asked them to breathalise me but they wouldnt
