Wahoo! I found some wheels for the Midget:

They're being shipped up from Dunedin in the next few days. Fingers crossed they'll fit, and hopefully they'll clean up ok too. 13x5.5" should be a nice upgrade from the current 10x3.5" wheels. 

SHGWAG, do you know the length of an FC/FD gearbox? Mine are inaccessible to measure at the moment.

We went out to Raglan this evening to drop some stuff off, and the spring scenery on the way out is looking good. Noice noice.

Not as fancy as Julian's ones that he posted up a while ago, which are router cut so the letters stand out more.

A customer just sent me a pic of the plate I made for him last week:

I have an idea on how to add a subtle embossed effect to the letters, so I will experiment with that this week.

S is the trickiest letter to draw, so it would be awesome if you could post up a good pic of it for me.

Yeah, I've been making number plate stickers and number plates of various kinds for years. I've only started using the proper old style font recently though, after making the effort to photograph and re-create the letters when I see them around.

Cool. I'd like to replicate those rego and carless day stickers too, if no one else is doing them already.

Oops, you are correct.

Also note the triangular notches which should be present on the ends of the plate.

 

And the holes at the middle on each end of the plate.

I vaguely recall something about triangular notches, but I can't really see them in those pics above.

I've drawn up those extra holes in the plates too, but haven't done a run of plates with them yet. I noticed on my mate's car with black plates that it didn't have the extra holes. It's an MR plate. so maybe they stopped doing the extra holes not long before the white plate changeover.
