So the kit arrived from redline. $150 bux included so much stuff, clamps joiners and pipe.
Removed all the 1.5 - 2inch crush bent piping. Who the f**k puts 1.5 inch crush bends on an intercooler.
2 hours later- had to cut most of the pipes to fit, and had to holesaw a 3" hole through a panel but too easy. Bumper even fit perfectly
So its all 2.5 inch now, and i honestly recon I doubled the power. It lights up all four really easy now. Couldnt be more stoked how it worked out.
Cheers for everyones help

Cheers for the replies. Rather than going custom, i have ordered a universal kit from redline. $150 gets me 2x 90, 2x45, 2x180 and 2 strait alloy pieces, 8 straight joiners and 16 t clips. Cant really go wrong. The plan is to one-piece as much of it as I can with a local guy doing the TIG and beading. Wish me luck!
I will have to put a 3" holesaw through a support panel, but it is only tacked on from factory so shouldn't be an issue. Pics to come

Its for a 4g63 in evo flavour so ej20 stuff will be no help. Cheers will have a read

Basically I want to be schooled on intercooler piping.
HP levels are 250 ponies.
What size piping is right and what are the consequences of going too small/large
How much restriction does joiners, welds and bends cause.
Is there a 'right way' to build intercooler piping systems.
Cheers

Hey guys.
SO im not happy with my intercooler piping at all and want someone to make me up a new setup. Mild Steel/SS/Alloy all fine. I have the joiners. Giz you $500.
Car is an RVR

It has yellow top injectors... Its been played with quite abit, but seems solid enough.
The bov vents to atmo now with no issues. Its not the sort of car that you would be hard on it through gear changes. I prob wont have any problems. Will chuck some more pics up once its Wofable.

Its got a TD05 16g and evo manifold but smaller injectors and different computer. Goes amazingly well for a people mover, most versitile car ive owned. And its got a pretty low key bov ow beau.

Full evo3 spec motor.
Brought it because the seats at the back fold down to a full size bed. Pretty comfy. So awesome for missions.
Plans are to keep it as is. But just ordered a set of AT mud tyres, not sure why but will post pics of result

Cheer bud found someone abit closer.
On a similar note, what conditions contribute to the crazy hardening of rubber seals in modernish motors? The seals on this motor were so brittle, flexing them cause them to snap like a twig.

Hey guys
Girlfriend in Hastings car has a serious oil burning issue, i have isolated the problem, and she has the replacement part.
Its a tiny wee gasket that lives under the rocker cover. See here
http://www.google.co.nz/imgres?q=13271- ... 0,s:0,i:66
Anyway it needs to be changed. I did a dodgy side of the road repair to this gasket to get us home, so the gasket silicon needs to be pulled off, and the new gasket just shoved on. seriously a 5 minute job that only requires a philips screwdriver. If i knew anyone/anymen in hastings i would ask them but alas...
Anyone keen to help a sheila in need?
PS why do some guys not know anything about mechanics... seriously this would be the easiest job in the world, yet friends in hastings dont know what a rocker/valve cover is, or what a philips screwdriver is. G Give me strength...

The missus car has got one hell of an oil leak... Its a 1996ish Pulsar with a GA15de motor (auto). Im going to fix it for her but i want to put the least amount of effort in possible. First mission is to find the leak. With a cm or so of crusted on oil from the exhaust manifold right back to the rear muffler, i need to give it a clean first.
I realise that Napier has a ‘wash world’ style setup. My plan was to rock up, plastic bag the distributor, AFM ect. Cover the whole shebang in copious amounts of degreaser, let sit, waterblast off, repeat until clean. My question is : what is the best value for money degreaser that would crank through recently caked on oil from the block, suspension, underbody ect?
Second question is: has anyone had any experience with these cars, know where its likely to be leaking ect?
Cheers For ya help

First quote
"We can offer you a rate of $376.00 + GST ($432.40 inc. GST) to transport your motorcycle from Wellington to Dunedin"
so $676

You could indeed rego it as a 50. Its obviously a 'big' scooter, but not like a suzuki burgman or anything. Parked it next to one of those big chinese 50's and its about the same size. Ideally i think that would be best for it, or to cut it up and chuck the motor in something else. While it is in amazing condition to be fair i have no idea if it has a clean title, isnt stolen ect. Was left at a mates to defer costs from a shit flatmate of his
Im in wellington. Just want to recover my costs. A few hundy would do it.

Hi there
Recently aquired this beast. Honda CH250 Elite
250cc Single watercooled 4 stroke
120 kg's
130km/hr top speed
98 Mpg
Twist and Go!
Hadn't been going since 2010, a new battery, new throttle cable and a fresh tank of gas has it running perfectly. It is an absolute wheelie machine, so much fun to ride, real quiet and sedate too.
Digital dash is so 80's.
Unfortunately i am moving and gotta flick it. Reg= Dereg But has VIN plate so is in the system, and looks to be in excellent mechanical order. Has what looks like brand new tyres and starts and stops perfectly.

These must be lows then... THe guy that I brought them off recons he needed a spring compressor to remove them.
Cheers anyway. They were advertised as a 50mm drop
-
They are cobra super lows, front and rear.
I'd go out and buy some compressors, but i don't have the time to do the job, and thought someone might be keen for some xmas pocket money.
-
Hey guys.
I have a set of springs to be installed on my A32 cefiro. I have had quotes from $160 - $400 just to fit them. If i had some spring compressors and some time i'd do it myself. Unfortunately I lack both right now
Anyone with spring compressors keen to do a cashie one evening before xmas?
If not can someone recomend a reasonably priced mechanic in central or lower hutt area?
