I have just filled out MR2B and all was sweet
-
I seem to remember reading that the S13 sr20's had stronger blocks or something, hence why they used one in the old rayglass datsun 1200 drag car.
Correct I think, can get more power without hassels. Once you get to 280hp on a S14/15 SR20DET work needs to be done so it doen't fly to bits. Reason why I have a S13 SR20DET in my S15 (to get more power eventually without hassels).
A wrecker here in Nelson has a shitload of SR20DE motors, wanted $600 for motor and box last time I spoke to him.

Often...once its there, it can not be removed completely and requries constand scheduled dosing.
Are you positive its bug?
-
I forgot my spare motor has a broken exhaust bolt with broken easy out stuck in it....doh.
I'm going to drop the motor and remove read valve, maybe its gummed up...
-
i've done this in a turbowash...
-
did it just stop starting out of the blue? mine did that, looked over EVERYTHING couldnt find an issue, then started first pop next morning.
Indeed it did, and then it started fine but won't go over about 15km/h now.
Pulled the head off and noticed the fuel/oil is getting past the piston into the bore so I assume thats my problem. Will put my other motor on and wish for the best.
-
Mine won't even start now. Peice of shit....need to pull it down. May do later after i've cleaned garage
-
Pulled carb to bits and cleaned it all up.
Still have the same issue...Will clean muffler up again and check piston ring.
-
Was it easy to get to? I assume you have to remove the carb?
I'm pleased I could help, my turn to do the same
-
Been reading a discussion thread @ http://www.mopedarmy.com/forums/read.ph ... sg-1656678 and going to try a couple of things I read on there tonight.
1st: Check emulsion tube in carb isn't full of crud.
2nd: See if by restricting air-flow it revs higher to get more top speed.

Man our fa50s are ridden with 40kmh cancer
-
Exhaust port and muffler had been cleaned about and hour of riding ago.
Maybe fuel tap is blocked, but it still goes just doesn't go fast anymore.
Fuel cap aint blocked.
I changed gear oil on mine when i cleaned exhaust port, muffer etc. I wanna check piston to make sure rings havn't fallen to peices.
-
I have the same issue with the max 40kmh issue. Mine used to go around 55kmh...I readjusted the air fuel mixture to 1 3/4 out and it didn't make any difference. Decided to change the spark plug and didn't do fuck all. I'll have a look for gasket leaks also.
-
How does one do this? Pull the hose from the oil pump and wait a long time for it to drain?
-
Oh dude definately, and you could swing by mine and pick up my Suzuki FA50

17 December!
I know its short notice but a few of the guys from the Nissan Silvia club are having a mini-meet tomorrow.
Come along if you like.
Meet 12:00pm noon at the carpark outside of Goughs CAT located at 3 Brothers Corner, Richmond.
Travel out to rabbit island, there may be a BBQ available so bring along some food to cook up if you feel like it.
Would be good to see some Nelson people out there.

my old L300 smelled like cat piss, really fucked me off. Sprayed carpet with gas to help eliminate smell....
warning, do not leave van in garage with windows open with rear garage access door open when there are grotty male tom cats around

I'll take a picture. I understand what you are saying though, I think I will just remove the pipe from the exhaust and block it up or crimp it. I will remove the pipe tonight and block it and see if motor still runs well.
-
It's a odd setup, because the egr valve doesnt go back into the inlet. Or if it does its through a 4mm vacuum hose. Will have a look tomorrow.
-
Remove it all
Thats all very well but the system consists of a lot of vacuum lines and switch/sensor/solenoid things, so i'm not sure what exactly to leave/remove.
-
I purchased some extractors for my KP60 Starlet, totaly obvlivous to the EGR crap.
Just started labelling and removing everything to get the manifold off and then noticed the pipe from the exhaust manifold to the EGR valve....
Wouldn't mind removing all that EGR shit, has anyone done it before with sucess and able to run me through what to remove/reroute so motor will still run ok.
Or else will I need to get a fitting put on the extractors to hook the factory EGR pipe into?
Fuck emission shit fuck it....I was hoping to get the headers on tonight but will have to wait for you lot to advise me (sensibly)
