  1. HUGE apologies everyone but I have been informed tonight that V8 Super Tourers have taken the 10th of March date that was aside for the drag racing club & our event. I am super gutted but we are working hard to try and negotiate a date for later in the year or early next.   2. Yes Rotaries will need scatterblankets or shields & pretty sure I can oepn it up to any olschoolers but I probably won't get away with V8's given the history of the meet

Rotary Summerdrags When: Sunday 31st October Where: Fram Autolite Dragway - Meremere Gates open at 8am Scrutineering until 11.30ish $40 to race / burnout or park in the pits - All entries on the day Pit parking is open to pre 85 cars & rotaries only. No V8's or new cars $20 spectators Under 10's free NO EFTPOS at the gate NO DOGS or ALCOHOL Yes there will be a wet t shirt comp again - $500 bux prize money so anyone who's keen on entering flick me a message or email tash@ontrackpromotions.co.nz To race you must have: A WOF or Tech Cert A Scatterblanket or Scattershield A Helmet A Bonnet A Restricted drivers licence and be covered from head to toe just the same as Nightwars etc Scruitineering is overseen by an NZDRA Scruitineer, so our guys will be under his instruction For those that need scattershield specs All Rotary powered cars - the shield described is mandatory minimum. Where used, flywheel shields must be constructed so they completely surround the bellhousing to stop material entering the drivers compartment in the case of clutch failure. The shield should be constructed from 6.mm (1/4") steel plate, and extend forward to a point at least 25.4mm (1") ahead of the flywheel, and 25.4 (1") to the rear of the clutch and pressure plate. Shields must not be bolted to the bell housing and should attach securely to the "preferred" frame / chassis or engine. SFI spec bell-housing blanket is acceptable in place of shield. All vehicles running under 10 seconds must be fitted with a steel bellhousing.
  8. Skidfest will be held on Sunday 3rd October 2010 at Fram Autolite Dragway, Meremere. The format will be the same as previous years. Advertising flyers will be out and in stores etc soon with all the details on them. In the meantime please spread the word about the new date to anyone who may be interested in competing. Gates open at 12 midday > Burnouts start at 1pm and go till dark Spectators $20, children under 5 free. ...Strictly No Dogs and No Alcohol . No eftpos at the gate Competitors enter on the day from 11am - $30 or send us your email for a pre entry form. See you all there! We realise that this is the same day as the drift nats / superlap at Hampton Downs but as there are usually not a lot of drifters at Skidfest it shouldn't be too much of a clash. SCRUTINEERING STUFF REGO & WOF is NOT REQUIRED but your car is expected to be safe > Structurally safe & safe for our fire crew > Wheel nuts - none missing & tight > Wheels on tightly > Seat & steering wheel secure > Seatbelts working correctly > Battery secure > Firm brake pedal > Secure fuel cap > A scatterblanket / shield if you have a rotary You must have: A helmet / A Bonnet / Long pants & closed in shoes Judging Judges will be looking for consistency of smoke, style of driving, presentation of vehicle and Crowd response. An extra 5 points are gained if you pop a tyre, 10 points for popping both. These points are added up during the day, to give us an over all winner.
