Could be a pretty cool conversion. Better with a turbo diesel though! Something like a x3d-t if you can manage to lay your hands on one

Legally replacement springs are supposed to maintain sufficient travel from unmodified bump stops. Replacing them with those ones would count as a modified suspension component and to be perfectly legal they should be certified. But as above, depends who you get and how they wish to go with it.

Hurry up and buy a Beetle, then they can hardy say you were evading them
Thought you might have liked this. Not quite rust, but about as close in colour as you'll get

Gutted man
There is a place up in Chch that does straightening/rechroming for a pretty reasonable price, and the quality of the work is amazing. Be worth doing if you can get the money out of someone

Yeah I come along. I'll bring my camera too

Next: an animal in your car. Extra points if it can fly, or if its a cat in the glovebox

I'm the guy who bought Wills orange POS KE36. Think you showed up in the 929 when I was round looking at the wagon, I had that white Crown.

Near enough to standard compression with a T25 running 19psi. Went kinda well for a 5K

Go the black!

A blow through carb setup is only good for low boost. Suck through is good for 15 pounds.
How so? Can happily run 15psi through mine without any issues in a blow through setup without a box or anything. The first thing to give way seems to be the K50 lol
Go for the carb mate, something a little bit different. Get it setup right and it'll still be nice to drive, not too bad on gas etc

Or..... redrill your car and put studs in the holes so its 4x100
-
Just redrill the old ones if ya can, saves the cost of cert

Another point to note is most/all the people on here who have done a Carb Turbo have later wish they hadn't bothered and had gone EFi right from the start.
Not really, if you do the setup right then there is no reason to go EFI at all.
As above though, read a whole lot more on the information thats out there rather than just jumping in and assuming it'll be easy. There is a bit of playing around with float vents and things like that to keep your fueling right but a decent reliable setup is very achieveable. I used my 5K-T as a daily for a year with no troubles
