  1. Yeah I'm going for max height for ground clearance. Those 195/45 are tiny!!!
  2. I have 205/60 but it's too bulge. Will try different offset wheels instead.
  3. Where can I find tyre manufacturers specs for maximum width allowed? Have tried google but no luck. Looking for a 195/65/14 that's allowed on a 7.5" rim
  4. Chrome sill and arch trims put back on have managed to get the rear down to 250mm wheel hub to guard but untill I get to wheel alignment there's no telling if I'm within camber specs. Have ordered an airbox from a 1gge gx71 via yahoo. Doing some measuring on a friends car the intake pipe with temp sensor has the same pcd as my 1geu afm meaning I should be able to bolt it up to my stock airbox to keep things looking like the car came with the engine from the factory.
  5. Beat the inner guard lip with a hammer and trimmed the chrome edge to suit around where I folded the lip. Planning on a full re-spray post certification so things like this can be painted and undersealed then
  6. Not having a good time. Probably should have sorted the subframe before shopping for tyres. May reluctantly end up running 7 inch rear and 7.5 inch front to get through cert.
  7. Camber modded f series subframe back from sandblast and powdercoating. Facelift gx61 unless they're factory twin can come with a smaller 6.7" t series diff. To upgrade you just need the crossmember and diff. The rest is interchangeable
  8. Diff all assembled again (professionals finished it off as it was well out of my depth)
  9. Clutch slave cylinder and rubber line along with gearbox mount arrived from rock auto Waiting on pieces from various places to reassemble rear end hopefully ready to start up shortly. The list gets smaller each day untill I remember other things then it grows again
  10. St191 caldina powersteering reservoir and bracket as 1gge are remote reservoir
  11. Heater hoses 17mm ID v8 falcon XD 302 Cleveland heater hose does both CH1666C from Supercheap Auto
  12. F series ma61/gx61 diff casing stripped and painted with new pinion and axle seals and bearings Pinion bearings: Koyo TRA0607RYR Koyo TR0708-1 Crush tube spacer: 41231-22010
  13. Put lower control arms back in with new ball joints and bushes and attached knuckles and castor arms
  14. Had a clutch hard line made up as I didnt like the look of the braided stainless one. Finished assembling motor and gearbox and put them in the hole, half the wiring done, most of the front end reassembled.
  15. Installed genuine idlers and cambelt and aftermarket waterpump (toyota discontinued) Had aircon, power steer and alternator brackets tanked at engine builders along with the rear engine braces to bellhousing, intake braces and exhaust manifold and shields.
  16. Where I'm up to now. Just needing to purchase spark plugs and waterpump really, might do dizzy cap and rotor while I'm there as they are looking pretty manky. Really hoping to get this all together and back in the hole and running over the next 4 weeks
  17. I then spent saturday putting in the 24 buckets and shims. I had no idea of the order so just wacked them all in and checked clearances. Only had to swap 3 out for spares to get within specs. Repco had mechpro torque wrenches on special for $39.99 so the head was torqued down.
  18. 144 pieces reinstated to the head with nothing missing of left over
  19. Recieved 1x tanked and resurfaced 1gge block with new rings and frost plugs and everything cleaned and reassembled just in the process of cleaning everything that has to go back on it
  20. Head I rebuilt at the beginning of the year went to the engine builders with block and rotating assembly to get fitted turned out to be severely bent and very soft. Should probably have had this checked before spending the better part of three days reconditioning it. Pulled another one from stock that checked out ok so I get to do it all again. Practice makes perfect? After a bit of searching I grabbed some new m6 bolts from car clips nz working out to about 50c for 50 so have started piecing brake lines, air conditioning lines and powersteering lines back together. Also grabbed some new brake line grommets and distributor O-ring via megazip just awaiting brake master cylinder and some other pieces from rock auto to to complete brake system. Hit a bit of a snag with the air conditioning compressor in the way the lines enter it. 1gge (ribbed pulley) has a press in fitting with a bolt holding it down and 1geu (v belt pulley) just has a straight thread on sleeve and I cant un bolt and swap the housing as they're different pcd so hoping I can cut fittings off a set of ga70 lines and have them welded to my gx61 lines?
  21. Repainted brake booster and did some more assembly today. Gave the guards a good scrub down and cleaned the drain channels out. What are you guys using to seal between guards and body along the top seam and what's the best website for acquiring m6 toyota bolt kits? Really struggling with putting crusty parts back on so if anyone could reccomend somewhere in Auckland to get front and rear crossmembers and castor brackets, sway bar and lower control arms powdercoated that would be awesome.
  22. Resprayed engine bay in standard 035 white. Started working on wiring for gen 2 1gge (bluetop map sensor) both ecus have all the pins marked if you take off the cover which is handy.
