i recently replaced the door hinges and had the door cards refurbed
need to tidy up the interior a bit, and re-install front bumper
-
i already pm'd you with what i need, but it needs to be shipped of course
hey, look what i found on youtube:
-
ugh look what i found:
-
props to the corolla & 808 owners for not being clones
also liken the homespun efi turbo
i'm new to the forum so both nice surprises
-
that's a later rocker cover (if you didn't already know)
-
Can you check the membership list and see if I'm even on there, will be 'kyteler' as usual.
yer not on there
but tons of dudes with "gto" in there username. where are all these guys?
-
-
wow 2 whole gto's showed up to the jap/oldschool meet:
-
wow end of an era. he's the guy in all those race vids right?
-
So it looks like it requires the 45mm bush. Thanks for the info.
and there's 2 of these on each side, right?
-
whats a z33? they just bolt on? there HUGE!! what calipers? what am i looking at on the lancer?
33 calipers too. and no they are not just a bolt on haha
on the ex lancer you're seeing a newer engine swap
just an option if you want to ditch the engine you've got
here's the ex link
-
i'm running Z33 front brakes (i love this pic)
your 63 needs mikuni's
or maybe do a newer swap like the box lancer guy on here?
-
yea i like the look of bolt on flares better than moulded ones. your guards look better than them the green cars ones an i like the red better.
its a nice replica though, that an nz car? have you got a standard engine? what mods have you done? brakes or anything?
both nz cars, red & green
most of the gto's are in nz and japan and a few in malaysia
i had some big plans for a turbo twincam swap, but decided to simplify and go with a 2.6 & twin mikuni's
(i don't know how much you understand the terminology we use, so just ask if you need clarification)
when i thought i was going turbo, i went ahead and did a front big brake swap which turned out to be major overkill
i should post up some pics or really i should open my own thread instead of hogging up yours haha
-
well most are yeah you're right, but what i later learned is the flares should be bolt on not molded in
i guess if the panel beater really knows his trade they can be all metal with little bog
here's another:

I'm brown, bitches;

a decent car at TAS;
yeah, groovy reminds me a bit of katy'snest

omg i half expected this thread to be dead (like any other gto thread haha)
and here i find it's got 38 posts already
@michael there can be little doubt we need our own gto subforum now
@jesse, listen to dwlee and start bringing the wear & tear bits up to snuff
(that's what i'm in the process of doing atm as well) once that's all sorted you can explore fine tuning
as for rear bar, some guys say use them and other guys say they're worthless on a car with properly re-set leafs
and no i'm not in nz (although if i talk like i am it's due to dwlee's influence--haha) my gto and i are living in southern california now
ps, fell in love with this car years ago (but my lovely memory was dashed later when i was told it was a bogmobile)

hey thanks for that do you have a gto? iv seen comments from you on a gold gto on an
image site same user name any way that you? iv been looking everywhere for restored
ones but only ever find the same 10 or so cars! the picture of the silver one on retro
rides http://retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=readersrides&action=print&thread=61522
the one in this link, got a black pin stripe thats what i want mine to look like
that's me posting a comment, but not my gold gto though
funny, seems like we only got 10 gto owners on any of the forums
the rest of them hiding out at various "undisclosed locations" in nz
check out sigma-galant, but they don't know gto's all that ell

and some more:

http://retrorides.proboards.com/index.c ... read=61522
http://retrorides.proboards.com/index.c ... read=21752
we need to figure out an effective way for all the gto owners to communicate with each other
hasn't happened yet
-
welcome to another gto owner
hey saw you on retro-rides too! did you see the threads on the REALLY rusty uk gto's?
great to see you doing it right. these cars are so cool, but rust seems to be the norm (except for the rare few that are out there)
you might wanna post over at sigma-galant too as the seem to LOVE gto's
-
yep they are junk. mine are junk. secondaries not operating; sputtering start ups, etc.
i did some research, and realised they aren't worth bothering over
exception; good if you got a low mileage minter as a show or museum car
i still have 'em on my gto, and the whole motor's coming out, so i'm not bothering changing them
