^Haha i was about to say the exact same thing
-
Before i went flew back down to chch i started making the hidden fuel filler above
well thats done \/\/ and now i/dad just need to figure away of hingeing the access panel so it is covered.
Dad also got the floor perfect and so that got a coat of primer goodness
-
Those dunlops are difficult to get hold of. Just run the yokohama a539's in 175/50/13 if you want a lush small 13 inch tyre although I probably shouldn't be giving tyre advice after todays experience
expand on what happend today plz.

nah no 8s. With the silvia brake conversion i got it pushes the front track out slightly and my stance will be very similar to the photos you posted. I have a feeling that i am going to turn into a slight wheel hoarder so I will buy these and any other wheels I like. lol. it always good to have lots of options

75mm blocks can be certed as long as you have tramp rods.
-
14x8
what he said
Fuck you all, hahaha. i would be absolutly dreaming if i wanted to put an 8 under standard guards. It MAY just make it in the back with the right tyre, but there is no way i can get it under the front. and before some one says it, no i am not gonna flare the guards. i have to stick with a 7. lol
-
Okay ive got a dilemma, I have way more important things to be doing but logan (lowgan on here lol) has me all confused over what wheels to run. so im gonna put the question out there.
13x7 or 15x7? where would my money be best spent for the best looks???
-
Im in chch too. and would be keen for a meet or cruise whenever but my project is up in the north island, If anyone needs or wants a hand with car related shit, im always keen to help out/learn some new shit.

seedy al has 4age turbo goodness. pah, so what I have rb25det inlet manifold
-
Well today, logan came round to mine and we started the s13/laurel/cefiro suspension conversion.
its was pretty gay conversion but we had awsome burgers for lunch..........
also this is a really good way to SLAM your r31 skyline. it sacked it a good 10-15mm from standard. lol
After we dropped out the old shitty stuff we tried to put in the new shitty stuff. It was pretty much bolt in except the steering arm is 3mm thicker on the cefiro/s13/laurel hub carrier then on the stock r31.
The old man is ace at everything, so he just said "giv it ere an ill fix" and mounted the hub carrier in our trusty lathe/mill and went nuts
now it is a bolt in conversion
Logan is a happy chappy when we realised that this shit wont fit easyish
\
Then we went to do the other side but the fucking awsomely smart guy at the wrecker gave him the wrong bolts to bolt the hubcarrier to the strut. but again we called on my old man and he turned down 2 bigger bolts and we used wheelnuts to bolt everything together.
sweet. now we gotta finish the other side tomorrow. bleed, test, maybe make some makita 1-ways.
Next he has to wait for his coilovers to turn up and then it can have epic slammage

well it did say from $56 each. so i was all oh fuck yea. I asked for a quote for 2 15x8 and 2 15x7 and they were gonna be 140 per wheel for chev/holden pattern and extra for any other pattern. $56 must be for 5x4''
anyway they werent wat I wanted it was sort of a compromise with price and width etc.
The rims i really want are these:
they come in a 15x8 +12 offset and they are uber cheap so I will get them when the time comes around.
And yea a fuck load of potential I just hope it will look as good as it does in my head and that it will reflect the time gone into it
-
draw through it goes carb then turbo then engine. so you are sucking fuel through the carb. you have to have a carbon sealed turbo and you cant runa blow off valve or intercooler.
blow through goes turbo carb engine. you just blow through the carbs.
suck/drawthrough is very easy to do and can give very good results on low boost. althogh with out an intercooler you can run into detonation problems quite fast. you can build a real easy water injection setup so you cool intake charge and it will go harder for longer
-
yea i know. I just want 8s under the back haha. and those nascar rims are fucking cheap. lyk 56 each. I cant afford lights yet. I myt save up and get some of those rota wheels maybe. and just roll on bogans till then. (not that Im gonna be rolling anytime soon) lol
-
I did a VERY shit chop for gunmetal/black. for some reason(i am shit) my gun metal was more brown metal. oh well
-
Just did a few measurements and if they were right (probly not). Then I can do a 15x8 with a +10 offset and it will stick out the rear guard by 1.5cm. so with phat d1 stretch I should be able to get in there with no rub if I get the ride height right. *dreams*
It will have to be a 7 on the front tho. and even that is gonna be fucken tight
-
Castrol colours
Oh jesus motherfucking christ yes. that would be soooo damn tough
-
got diff cleaned up and got a coat of pa10.
also have engine cross member cleand and painted with new bushes and seals, to be put away to keep it purdy.
Got rear drums cleaned up and painted with high temp paint
And places that carry datsun 1200 ex stock in whakatne actually rule my world. brake parts for the win.
Fuck scraping underseal off licks balls hard. It is a cunt of a job and it goes fucken every where
-
I am thinking of getting some 15x7 (15x8 if I am feeling silly) nascar type D-slots made up through elite wheels
What do the masses think?
-
I have been planning a blow through turbo setup for the a15 in my datsun. The hardest part would be the exhaust manifold. Then you would need a bigger fuel pump and a rising rate fuel pressure regulator that is for carby's. then you gotta run oil lines from the oil press sender and back into the sump above the oil level in the sump to stop it from frothing. also you wil probly have to run water lines too and from the turbo (some dont, most do). I am goin to blow through a small intercooler to a custom plenum and two su carbs. tuning the carbs and getting them balanced etc will be a lil difficult but it will be a fuckin fun lil project.
edit: also you have to lock the dizzy and I think you are supposed to remove vaccum advance
-
Got a layer of dynil (sp?) cloth resined in and some microballoons+resin+sanding lots = very smooth tray that is going to look fucken schmick
-
those rims but with a gunmetal or bronze centre and a polished lip. Looking good man, cant wait to come back up north for a skid.

Another small update. the tray was beaten to fuck so me and the old man decided to make a completely flat floor by fibreglassing in a sheet of ply.
First the ply was glued down then the edges were glassed in, next step is to finish the glassing and then fair it so it is smooth enough for some ultra super gloss topcoat

haha what do you mean engineers, I designed and cut the plate out my self. with a fucken hacksaw
They space the front end out 2.5mm each side.
To do it I used a drum brake front end and the disk just replaces where the drum would sit. I got more photos if people would be interested in a workshop submission or tech section?
