^^ yes it does have a booster, but i pulled the vacuum line off tht goes to the booster and blocked the hole with my finger and it still ran like shit. It starts fine and will idle and rev fine on the choke. but when you start to come off the choke it coughs and spluters and dies. How do I check if the fuel pump is fucked?

how can it be lean. nothing has changed from it running mint to its current symptoms. I drove it in the pouring rain and then it wouldnt runb properly. me and dan completely blew the carb out today and I have run it with my thumb over the two vacuum ports on the inlet manifold. What else can be done to see if its lean. As I say, a cuple of boxes tlo the cunt that gets it running.

i had the exact same problem with my L20b in my bluebird. i changed everthing on the bitch and still ran like a bag of arse.i suspect that my one had a vacuum leak as there was exhaust soot on the head where a game was between the manifold and head. i sprayed some petrol while running and it ran better for a few seconds.

i suggest you throw a new gasket on it and smother it in rtv and seal it uo good and proper.

i have a manual for a 910 bluebird with a l20b in it. i could lend it to you this weekend and maybe giv you a hand at getting it going.

if you do get it going you can come on the datsun cruise on monday

Okay, me and Dan (kiwixr3i) blew out carby, and had a little play with the timing. and it still doesnt fucking run. I am on the verge of taking it to a garage and telling them to get it running. Fuck i hate this........

yea it hasnt done that for a while. Firing order is definately correct. It still "coughs" through the carb, no flame but it just spits back? could be crossfireing inside cap? im pretty sure my problem is fuel tho.

from where. AFAIK im the only guy wit l20b in chch on here and unless your car is off the road its not that conveniant to whip ya carby off for someone to borrow. It shouldnt cost me fuck all to get the carb blown out should it? ahh well. I will check the timing and replace the cap tomorrow and then it has to be carb.

but it was backfiring ie flaming back through the carb. Can a fuel issue do that?

replaced leads plugs and cap is getting changed tomorrow. although im 99% sure it isnt the cap.(its only 17bucks for a cap so it cant hurt to chuck one on). a fuel hose to the carby was fucked (some dipshit replaced it with non fuel specific hose). so im guessing the carby got a mouthfull of shit. I cleaned out all the jets(which were blocked) but need an air compressor to blow out passages etc. my next step will be to whip the carby off and take it down to a carby guy and get him to clean it out. I will check and if its out reset the timing tomorrow so I will post up the results tomorrow night.

yea that escudo widebody would look alright aye. but with a ex the lines would want to be fairly sharp to fit in with the rest of the body lines. i may do a photoshop when i get bored sometime to see what the subie and escudo bodylines look like on the ex

^and fair enough, indeed the tr4 was a nice looking car, but some design cues from the tr4 can be found in the tr6. right through from the tr2, They resemble th car previous to itself albiet with some slight and some not so slight changes, you can tell they are cars from the same "family".but when you go to the tr7 i didnt follow on from (design wise) anything that the tr2-tr6 had built up (design wise again).

I am fucking sick of not having a car that runs. If one of you chch boes would rock around to myplace and give me a hand to get my fucking l20b running properly then I will supply you with liberal amounts of alcohol(where liberal=a cuply boxes of your choice). cheers.
