gave it a good wash today and it looks alot better lol.
gonna buy a new bonnet so the engine and stuff doesnt get wet its the worst rusty thing on the whole truck.
-
its not like its going to be a beast of a thing. as long as it runs im happy, for now its gonna do duty around the farm. once i have spare money. im going to replace the body/gaurds/bonnet/grill/tailgate with rust free items. once that is done i'll look at getting it back on the road. then i will replace the engine most proberly a engine conversion for a 4age or something. but need this engine to get running for the time being

talked to my good mate who i got it from and he said that, when they brought it the engine was in bits they put it together fixed a valve and rebedded it. got the engine running but was smokey and used oil. so they started to pull the engine back down so that they could get the bore honed.
he and his father lost interest in the project and left it how it was (radiator removed/valve cover removed/exhaust manifold removed/leads removed/distubitor cap removed.
he said it should run, considering it turns over nice and sweetly by hand.
said they couldnt get it started with the starter as it just cranked and cranked so they tow started it and it run good apart from being smokey.
Any help now that iv got some background info on the engine ?
-
If that fails just go out and buy some a can of compression, should sort it out.
whats a can of compression ?
-
well if it was running a 12-6 months ago i doubt the compression would go low
-
well im gonna try, no harm in trying right ? lol
but if it starts, i call for massive burnouts on my old jeep tyres with my 20's on the front to celebrate hehe.
but in all seriousness it should start, i mean the engine is turning over (was running before) and if it can get spark and fuel it should fire right ?
well i'll see how it goes but keep the info coming guys

took the spark plugs out and sprayed WD40 into the holes
-
its called, having a go.
saving money, and learning at the same time

OK, went out to the shed today with a can of WD40 and degreaser, sprayed the head with WD40 tryed turning it over by hand from the crank pully, didnt even move fuck. grabbed the powerbar and a 17mm socket and put it on the the crank pully bolt, and it turns over YAY lol, all the valves and shit are moving nothing is jamed turns over nice and smoothly.
found the distubutor cap in the back along with some leads, took them home and cleaned then.
any ideas on whats next lol ?
at a guess new spark plugs.
put the valve cover back on.
see where those wires hook up to that are around the engine.
connect battery
and try and crank it and see if it gets spark.

should i pull the head off and give it a good clean with petrol and de-greaser ?
anything else i can do before i put it all back together and try to crank it ?
-
pretty much are of them are like this, and i didnt want to spend 3k+
any ideas on my first question on trying to get the engine running ?
-

had a look at my engine in the suzuki sj410.
it has a f10a engine which is around 970cc 4cyl carby, now the engine has had its valve cover off for at least a year and was parked out side. birds have lived in the engine bay and the head has pretty bad as it has straw in it from the birds.
was wondering what is the best thing to do ? the parts in the head are looking a bit rusty espically the springs.
should i jus take off the head give it a good clean up and lube it up and put it back on or ?
im not sure if engine turns over or not any ideas on how to check if all is fine ?
heres a photo to show what i mean:
engine was running before it was parked up about 1year ago.

Unknown year SJ410
Fully rusted out.
Chassis very good
Good drivetrain apart from engine.
Good tread on tyres

been a long time since its been updates
a few goodies
first of all brought some 36x17x16 Racing drag slicks
brought a set of 20x9 BSA mags with used 295/45/20 tyres
also brought a set of brand new 295/50/20 tyres
this is what the jeep looks like at the moment at the panel shop
-
yeah the whole thing. its a van seat which is to be mounted in the back of my jeep. the back flooring is flat 100% so it must be a fuckn easy job. and firewall needs bracing.
-
hey guys after someone to make a rear seat mount for my jeep, needs to be ticketed i think as it will be going for a cert. isn't a hard job just needs bracing under the floor and the rear seat bolted to it i think
cash job - can discuss the amount
get back to me as i need someone to do it asap.

A serious question though: what's the discount gonna be like if you manage to get more than 20 people?
once you get to 17, let me know. I have 4 more plates to purchase
sorry mate guy whos orgoniszing this just told us that, there is no more discount because the company does not do that any more
so its just 20% off which is better than nothing and prices are only gonna go up for new plates......
-
group buy going on at NZHONDAS
bigger discount if we get to 20people i think.
Hey Club Members;
I'm in the market for a new Personalized Plate, however the cost of these things as we all know have gone through the roof,
I have contacted them in regards to some group deal pricing; they have changed the pricing structures a lot in the past few years since my last plate.
Anyways here is the jist of the deal; if I can get 8+ people I can get a standard 20% discount off every plate, you can choose between any standard plate, or fashion plate (red/Message/picture/euro ) or a gift voucher to pick a plate at a later date.
Basically with the group deal of 8+ plates the cost for a standard plate is $599.20 each ($749.00 RRP ) or Fashion plate $679.21 each ($849.00 RRP. ) - Note: the more people I can get the more discount I can get.
I'm looking at doing something with this by the end of the month.
so... who's keen?
