  1. well yes but not too hard on the engine like in the video, grass should be better,. but i might not do that now, but try some 4x4 in the drain and paddock instead. i think you guys are interpreting it wrong, plus the start up video the high revving was because the accelerator got jammed, that wasn't meant to happen:(

  3. i dont see how i have fucked it ? there was no damage done to it im pretty sure, the bit in the video i was going really hard on the engine but that was the only time, warmed it up before i even revved abit. i'll try find the rebuild stuff u mentioned and the compression can stuff how long can i expect it to last ?
  4. no cheap easy, fix like a oil additive or a certin type of a oil ? not something that going to fix it for good, but something that will make it alot better than what it is now or will last a bit of time maybe ?
  5. drivetrain is all good, not trying to kill it just got a tad excited when it started up that's all and called for a celebration, i hooked 3rd gear in it doing a sitter haha. but when i replace the body, the engine most likely will get replaced as I'd fail a wof with that much smoke anyway. but i do plan on keeping the motor running for a while thou
  6. haha thats me, forget to mention it had no seat, so i was sitting on the floor and i couldnt see where i was going and the rust was fucking poking into me, tomorrow i'll get a seat in there and take it out again for propper drifts skids when i can see whats going on and im not able to fall out hahha im 16 btw
  7. will get some photos of the zip tied fan belt tomorrow morning haha suprisingly the zip/cable ties would very good as my fan belt. gay thing is that after say 20-30mins of fun, the oil level went real low and i got a very loud tappet noise and then i parked it up in the shed. no cheap fixes so it smokes less/ burns less oil ?
  8. yeah of course, let it warm up cause i had to wait for the thermostat to open up so i could get rid of any air in the system and fill up with water..
  9. hahahah guess what, it started hahaha. and lots and lots of smoke, no fan belt, no alternator, sticky throttle hahaha heres a start up video (not the first thou) then we decided we wanted to rip it up, so i took it down the driveway and water came out of the radiator. dam, went home and reliased it was becasue we had no fan belt that the water pump wasnt working. drove it into the shed, thought a bit about it, then decided trusty zip ties could be the fan belt ahahahahahah using 3-4 zip ties we had our self a fan belt that worked. here is a video of a couple of my mates doing some skids and have some fun. too bad right at the end we heard a real loud tappet noise (most likely due to having not much oil left after burning it all hahaha) temp gauge works too. im just a bit pissed of that it smokes this much hahaha, any product i can buy which will make it less smokey and/or make it burn less oil, iv heard of a few products and seen them at a few automotive store ?

  11. nah i didnt find it at repco or supercheap. when i asked them they said it sounded doggy and i should stay away from a product like that
  12. hahaha hooked everything up yesterday, new plugs, new oil. connected fuel up to a bottle, and tried to fire it, after cranking it for a bit and realising it wasn't trying to fire, id thought id check if we were getting any spark at all, much to my disappointment no spark. Opened up the distributor cap and guess what. lol there's no distributor rotor in there. so today i check at the repco/supercheap auto stores in Hamilton to track me down a rotor. found 1 at te rapa and bought contact points too for it. hopefully I'll put it all in tomorrow and try and crank it and *Fingers crossed it should fire into life* brought a can of "START YA BASTARD" engine starter
  13. diffently, just put the carb back on. gonna put the head on tonight. gonna try fire it up tomorrow with new engine oil/spark plugs
  14. cleaned the engine up today. Started to put a few things back, took the carb off to give it a clean. gave it a crank today with the battery hooked it all up and most of the stuff works, such as all the dash lights/fan/lights. cranked it without the sparkplugs and the valve cover to get rid of all the shit and water. then i drained out the old oil/water for the engine, the water was in there from when i cleaned the head. heres some photos: Cleaned the body up too and its not that bad apart from the front bumper and bonnet, but im still going to replace the whole body once the engine is up and running.

  16. it doesnt really bother me if its smokey. its a temp engine till i replace the body, get it road legal and then a engine transplant at the end of it all.
  17. err no just the replaceable body panels that have rusted, driveline and chassis has no rust checked it all out. painted the rocket cover today lol. i'll go around tomorrow and try find and buy a can of compression. and engine start stuff. then hopfully i get compression+spark+fuel = 1 running motor with a bit of smoke
  18. talked to my good mate who i got it from and he said that, when they brought it the engine was in bits they put it together fixed a valve and rebedded it. got the engine running but was smokey and used oil. so they started to pull the engine back down so that they could get the bore honed. he and his father lost interest in the project and left it how it was (radiator removed/valve cover removed/exhaust manifold removed/leads removed/distubitor cap removed. he said it should run, considering it turns over nice and sweetly by hand. said they couldnt get it started with the starter as it just cranked and cranked so they tow started it and it run good apart from being smokey. Any help now that iv got some background info on the engine ?
  19. gave it a good wash today and it looks alot better lol. gonna buy a new bonnet so the engine and stuff doesnt get wet its the worst rusty thing on the whole truck.
  20. its not like its going to be a beast of a thing. as long as it runs im happy, for now its gonna do duty around the farm. once i have spare money. im going to replace the body/gaurds/bonnet/grill/tailgate with rust free items. once that is done i'll look at getting it back on the road. then i will replace the engine most proberly a engine conversion for a 4age or something. but need this engine to get running for the time being

  22. well if it was running a 12-6 months ago i doubt the compression would go low
  23. well im gonna try, no harm in trying right ? lol but if it starts, i call for massive burnouts on my old jeep tyres with my 20's on the front to celebrate hehe. but in all seriousness it should start, i mean the engine is turning over (was running before) and if it can get spark and fuel it should fire right ? well i'll see how it goes but keep the info coming guys
