They are just so damn ugly.
And as per this thread dont even take scoot with you when you fill in MR2B. If its legit then nothing to worry about, if its obviously not what you have registered it as then prepare for a reaming likely worse than if you hadnt registered it at all as well as ruining it for the rest of us

Very few japanese mid size cars will do this comfortably. Pretty sure if I were a teenager, I wouldn’t be comfortable in the back of a CRV. The problem with nearly every car these days is the middle rear seat is mainly cosmetic.
Asides from the addition of a baby seat 3 people can comfortably sit in the rear of most mid size SUV.
FIL is 195cm tall and was pleasently surprised with the room in our CRV on a 4hr return trip to Hamilton

Havnt tried tbh, dont have a teenager or baby seat for scale either Its based on an Accord chassis so should be a size up from Axela.
Pros for it for us were: 5spd Auto not CVT, cheap, reliable. Cons: Could do with more power

gonna steal this thread for a moment, wife wants to get a mid size suv.
was looking at the ~2010 toyota vanguard. apparently just a LWB rav 4. anyone own one or got an opinion? another option could be a murano or similar vintage.
need to sell her 2010 axela and see what sorta budget we get though, hopefully around 12-13k
Murano are gross, typical nissan V6 issues and most are imported with stupid massive all in japanese stereo system.
Vanguard, meh just an expensive Rav4. I rate the CRV of all mid sized SUV of 2007-2012 era, because I have one.... But I have one because I went through all of them and CRV was best bang for buck.

Family friend who was mechanic for 40 years and hated Mitsi bought a ASX for his wife, swears by it.
But I guess also for that 30k odd price a Kia Seltos might be worth a look, a bit smaller but good value. Or a Sportage if that size is what is required.

Id go a ASX, 10 year warranty so cant go wrong

Surely a modern Toyota 86/Subaru BRZ would be a better option from a financial point of view now.
Sure it doesnt have the cult classic status but arguably better handling, more power and cheaper

The main problem with a 4AGE is the flatspot in the powerband between 0-9000rpm

So you want to buy a car to get the engine to rebuild to put into a car that already comes with the engine that you bought a different car to get to put into that car that came with it?
Sounds logical

K24 with adaptor to whichever RWD gearbox you feel you want to use? 180kW n/a is achievable or more if you spend $$ or 400hp Turbo on stock internals

Or even better, dont take the scooter with you at all. 60% of the time it works every time

Saw that blue micra again yesterday, massive dent in drivers rear 3/4 panel

Yes I've seen that one in town several times but wasn't quite foamer enough to take pics

Why would changing panels require a cert?

That brings back memories, my parents had a 1986 model, manual, silver. Bought it ex demo or something, dealer refused to take a trade in on the mk3 cortina wagon it was replacing.
They had it till 2001 or something, eventually ended its life in the hands of the kawerau dog club. Dad impounded it on night shift(he was a cop out there) after clocking it doing 160kph

This thread reminded me of the extremely low and nice small wheels example I saw a couple months ago.
I think the next gen micra march (ugly even more bubble like) has potential to be not terrible.
Edit, suspicion confirmed

These look pretty cool, or at least look way more expensive than they are

A good friend has had a Amarok since new(2014 I think), daily driver and his company car. He loves it, its a fancy model with leather etc, never had a single issue in 150,000kms.
Not what Id buy but to answer the initial question for a tarmac driven diesel ute probably one of the better ones if you can live with the euroness. Id personally be a little wary of the highly strung nature of the compound turbo 2L engine but that may just be me

I found installing the airbox first then filter then clamping was the easiest way.
They do sound good though, not too loud

Not about the product but there's been a bit in the news recently about how slack Dicksmithis with actually delivering your stuff
