  1. guessin most aren't too keen on the morning idea. thats cool. quite keen to get some shots at the old mill at mosgiel as it would look wicked but if not everyone wants to go there no worries can find somewhere else thats still good. what time roughly would be a good one to aim for.

  2. was out for a cruise for conrodders yesterday as im an associate member and found a mint as place to get some cars parked up in mosgiel. Its at the old mill and real easy to get to, straight down the main st and turn right at the intersection that's got the milk bar on it and about a 1km down the road make another right and your there. Got nothing pland for this satday morning so could take some photo's of all the cars who are keen and can do a cool dunedin oldschool shot of them all together. Need to get something together, itd be good az. Im heading home over summer and comin back up for weekends but wont have the go tina as its getting a respray and another g-box put in and a general tidy up. leave a post for all that are keen to do sumthing this wekend, could meet up at a servo and go from there.

  3. in gore they are common as mud and most are all dinted and sound like crap so im sure you wouldnt be thinking it if you saw them. there is the odd one or two that are quite nice and tidy tho. I am studying photography at polytech mon-fri and after taht just beein a bum as i've given up applying for jobs as no one bothers to get back to these days. Have seen "the 20" out about round town and it looks real nice.

  4. I saw your car in Gore on my way back from the Blossom Fest. drags, in my mates 32GT-R, was all, WTF!? I didn't realise that was a Southland car! etc.

yea its a gorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre car, spent 2 years doin up on the drive way at home so most people in the neighborhood know exactly whats done to it and just about every weekend people would come over and see what the progress was. get alot of older guys reminising of their younger days having one etc and just about everywhere i go i end up talkin to someone about it for half n hour. cant even do the groceries in peace :D its all good tho. had a few people follow me and get in front of me to take photo's on their phone too. thats amusing. makes the time and effort worthwhile tho. if any of you guys see me out and about feel free to come have a look at the car ae. got no worries with it.

  5. ahah cheers mate, good old bp southern would be my local. real keen to get a cruise organised or something ae. keen for some photo's of the oldschool rides too never have enough photo's of mint rides. Dont really know many people up here to go out crusin with as i moved up from Gore at the start of the year, couldnt wait to leave bogan central ae. sick of seeing xf falcons and beat up holdens etc. some dam nice rides up here and full credit goes to all the guys with mint rides and to all the work and money put into them. Im only up to 11g spent on mine but by lookin at other people's cars can tell alot more has been spent.

  6. cheers. yea still a work in progress but gets the looks. dropping a 105 e anglia 4 speed floor change in it as christmas time and getting the boot all smoothed out and panels made up to cover the sides and floor in the boot. have to replace all my door rubbers and bits and peices but aint got the funds for it at the mo.

  7. Im in Dunners and im crusin in my Metallic green 69 mk2 cortina, probably would recognise your cars if out and about. Im a photographer by trade so keen as to get a group of oldschool rides together with mine for a photoshoot. can also do individuals if you guys are keen.

  8. may as well post one of the better photo's i took of my car parked up. Have changed the tyres on the front since that photo. Didnt handle very nice at all with 175 70's on the front so went for some 185's but would ideally like to go even bigger something like a 205 of even a 215. Have also removed ugly ford badge off boot and replcead it with a ford oval sticker as it looks much better. Have also installed hella green led's in the grill which I have already been pulled over for but luckily for me their hooked upto a switch so got out of a compliance notice.Carby has been tuned to suit the 1600 seeing as it was off a 2ltr. Also put some new chrome headers on as the old ones were warped and made a nice tickin noise when i put a good load on them goin up hills.Still a work in progress as at the end of the year im hopefully guna strip it again and re paint it as there's a few small areas that could be better and looking to deck out the boot with new a new floor above the fuel tank and deck it out with some perspex and carpet with a ford logo and led's in there somewhere and a few other bits and peices. Looking at eventaully putting it on some 15x7's with some dish to make it handle that much better and in between times want to replace all the door rubbers and front windscreen seal and other rubber items. Anyone who's got any ohter thoughts or ideas towards makin it look or go better feel free to leave any comments.

  9. not every ones thing but the oval badge was the only one i had that wasnt too big and filled in the 2 holes where the automatic badge used to be. exhuast wise, it pays not too go too big as it makes it sound shit. general rule is to go with watever size pipe comes out the extractors or only a fraction bigger to make it look better. Not expecting everyone to like it but its different and its tidy so im happy.

  10. Having a few troubles with my mk2 cortina with getting the gearbox mount to fit into the bolt holes under the car. the situation is that the car body shell is automatic that has been changed to a manual but the mounting brackets for the automatic box are too far foward for a manual box. Any tips on what gearbox mounts would fix this without having to weld something in. dont wana have to get it certed thats all.

  11. its alot brighter in the flesh, photo's dont do justice for the paint. unique is deffinetly good. here's some more photo's, engine going in tommorow all going well. exahust gets put on next week some time as well. will post pics of that as it will be the first mk2 cortina (i hope) with the type of exahust i'll be getting.

  12. Another few photo's. The seats are just sitting in it to keep them from getting junk sat on them. the umpers are fixed on and the back one needs a bit of a polish up and it'll be good. Next on the list is the hoodlining and then its down to get the engine, gearbox, drive shaft in at the workshop.

  13. An update on the car. Wiring is being done, underlay has been glued to the floor to quieten things down, custom made sub box has been fitted as well as my 6x9 speaker shelf at the back thanks to my brother's handy work. Front has been put back together and the possums better watch out as we had a pair of H4's in the garage that are now on the car. Rego plates are still live so will look that much better with the black plates when its done. Brought a uniden alarm system which is being fitted soon aswell. Carpets are in soon to be followed by the seats.

  14. Has any got dates for next years all Ford day or any cortina related shows. Mine will be done around the 7th of january and hope to take it for its first cruise to the timaru racing the weekend of the 13th of january. Any dates and who to contact etc would be great.

    Cheers

  15. Yeah he is an older guy doing it, just waiting on more material to arrive and then i will have all my bench seats done. Got the top half of the front bench seat back tonight so it would have only taken about 2-3 weeks for the lot which is dam good! you'll find him in the deep south. Joys of living down here i guess cheap deals and a dam good job. cant go wrong.

  16. IT looks preety dam cool all right, im real happy with how its turned out. I havnt got the bill for it all yet the guy is half way through the front bench seat. Was told it was $15 an hour to upholster the seats and material cost me about $160 all up. This will differ of course depending on who does your work. Here's my back bench seat all done and ready to slide back into the car.

  17. A few more pics of my car, paint has had another good block sand and the bonnet has been primered and block sanded ready for colour. engine is half put back together but no rush there as that can be done in a night after the cars painted as it should prevent the seals from drying out before use. Seats are goingaway tommorow to have the green and white vinyl treatment as well as my dash top and speaker pods. Spent 3 hours gettin my front sway bars sorted in the weekend but still need to have it slightly adjusted before the engine goes in to prevent it from cracking the blocks and they need to be clamped down further from where they are now, apart from that its comin along slowly.
