These things are terrifying. I was worried the propeller might fall off and cut me in half or maybe some electrickery would leak out and sting me. So I drove all the way to Auckland to get away from them.

Car didn't stay clean for long...

Rubbish weather so didn't get to see glaciers or Lake Matheson/Mt Cook. Better leave something to see next time anyway. Greymouth

I meant to go past different lakes on the way back across west but somehow got on the wrong road and went back exactly the same way I'd come to Wanaka. Went Haast Pass thought to Fox Glacier. I was peer pressured into washing car. So many stone chips!

Saw heaps of albatrosses but they were too hard to take photos of.

I brought that BMW session forward a couple of days so had a bit of extra time up my sleeve so zig zagged back across to the east coast.

Days like this I wish I could swing a golf bat stick.

This was pretty amazing. 20% slope, two wheels on ice hill starts. Hurt my mechanical sympathy nerve though.

Went in death bird thing for the first time. Man, they're terrifying when the vibrations etc change.

Turns out I'm rubbish at snow drifting. I blame 4WD.
