Also, can you explain how the Prius gearstick works? I sometimes kind of want to ask uber drivers but I'm terrified their brain won't be able to deal with the multitasking.

Was seriously looking at a Prius C / Aqua as a small roundabout and for my 500km/week commute. Don't need actual power in Auckland traffic and to minimise fuel consumption.

If I had to commute, I'd like to test drive a Honda CR-Z manual hybrid thing 4lols. I've heard anecdotal reports they're not bad.

When I saw the pic, I thought you'd bought a car trailer to convert into a caravan, but that was just to cart the steel

I really like the coating/plating/whatever it is on Facom. It seems to stick better than some others I've used. It has a nice texture and doesn't get that burr-ey feeling like it's gonna cut you after a few years. 

But I haven't used much else that isn't probably cheap junk so there might be other stuff out there that's just as good/better.

Peugeot 308 1.6 diesel. You have to be patient to find one for $7k but they're the best thing for 100km commutes.
