Edit - they do make a phev wagon but don’t sell it here and am pretty sure they are killing the wagon in nz. Perhaps the one you saw was Aussie import?

I saw an irate lady in a Prius yelling at someone charging their MG/BYD/Kia(?) at a supermarket charger to go back to their own country the other day and said she'd ram them. Unfortunately for my chances of going viral on YouTube, no ramming took place

There was a carpark in Bahrain with like 258390 China petrol cars that looked like they hadn't moved for a while. They seemed to be ex rental. Maybe waiting for the next giant event that needs a lot of rental cars.
Or maybe those ones in China are waiting for some unsuspecting rental car company in Bahrain to buy them.
