Fixed on one of the guards, feels fairly rigid.

Am after a smooth finnish and want to try and avoid the paint cracking. Have test fitted them up with some duct tape and they felt fairly rigid as if once boged up they should be fairly sturdy, just enquiring as to what methods are best for fixing them? glue and some small bolts with washers? then mabie some fiberglass to shape it into the body sanded down and skimmed with bog? anyone got any tips/links to tutorials on how it should be done? Cheers.

has anyone done this? they will be run with Austin princess calipers....Pulled the mk1 hubs of to test fit the disks and the PCD of the wholes are different, suspected that it was going to be the case. Can anyone tell me what hubs i can use to make them fit and is it likely i will be able to get them to fit up to the escorts existing struts or will i need full capri struts? Could i just get the wholes re drilled? Cheers.

Uni study break so got a little time to work on the car orthough its very weather dependant at the moment.
Have welded up a few wholes;
New disks Vs Old
New AP Calipers and old
Installed the central locking on all 4 doors so once iv made sure thats working reliably with the alarm will shave the drivers lock also and hook up to the alarm just need to come up with a contingancy plan for if the battery goes flat any ideas?
Welded up the broken drivers seat rough as but will hopefully pass a WOF and do for now untill i can get new seats certed along with everything else.
Got a new shinney wheel and boss kit
replaced the mk2 boot poper swith with one i picked up from J Car ... its a key spring loaded critter that seems to do the trick.
Fixed my window winders with new handles (they had broken off)

Picked up some Austin Princess 4 Pot Brake Calipers and vented Ford Capri Discs on TM should help her stop better when the 2L conversion is done.
Also picked up a Central Locking Kit that hopefully i will be able to get to work then wire up to an alarm and shave all the door locks.
and got a battery protector that is supposed to cut of the power suply to your electronics if your battery is running to close to flat.

Got the springs back today and stuck them back on the car and she sits faily low now so this weekends job is to try pump the front guards so the wheels can turn.
-
Spent weekend working on car, pumped the rear guards with the Fender Reforming Tool, ended up using it as more of a dolly to hammer against.
Removed petrol tank and welded up the reverse light holes, badge wholes and trim wholes. Took front struts out and dropped the spring off to be compressed. Painted front sway bar and fixed a little rust on one of the guards.

Mag n Turbo gave me a quote for 13x7 superlites without tyres at $1275 from memory...not cheap

If i listed plans there would need to be amendments to every second post!

those tyres look fucked up!
haha yeah gaz and i just got them fitted to get an idea of what tyres to run and yeah didnt help at all really, they just went like a baloon!
-
I have also come across this problem today, was test fitting my 13x7's with the factory short nuts and i could get the nut to do about 4 turns untill hand tightness but then i couldnt actually fit my nut tightner thing e around the nuts hmm So am looking at getting some nuts this fella is selling on TM (pic below), hopefully they will work what you guys think? still havn't worked out if the 'Acorn Lug Nut' would be long enough or if i need to get the longer 'Mag Nut'. Could possably also get a full set of lock nuts that tighten from the end.
(tyres fitted are only as test fit to get an idea looking for something like 185 50 13)
-
Sounds like a plan stan ... Mean got my own project manager .. Cheers gaz

Will sideys mean that the break booster will have to be modified so they fit?
