  1. I know this seems to come up a lot - but moving into a place with no garage soon and will need somewhere to put the half built Cosmo + spares. Perferably somewhere south of Ngauranga gorge!

If anyone has any recommendations or knows of somewhere available I'd be forever in your debt! (maybe I could fix your website? )

    Thanks a million guys!

    Aaron

  2. AutoReligion.co.nz is getting a rebuild.

After a prolonged testing period, and taking all the feedback from users into account I have decided to take AutoReligion down for a rebuild.

I'll be implementing some of the more requested features, and simplifying a whole heap of existing features. Also, integration with existing websites and services is high on the agenda! The plan is to be back up and running again in the coming months - bigger and better!

I would like to extend a big thank you to everyone that has supported the project so far, those that took the time to signup and try the site out - it has been a huge help and I hope to pay the favour back with a rebirth of the site - how it should have been to begin with.

If you have any suggestions, comments, or would just like to be notified when I am looking for testers - please feel free to drop me a line on aaron.barnes@autoreligion.co.nz

    Cheers,

    Aaron Barnes, creator of AutoReligion.co.nz

  3. would be mean if there was no sign in then could pass link to people to show them your project like iv done 1000's of times to people to my OS project thread for advice.

Yeah mate, optional registration is at the top of the list - thanks for trying the site out tho! Your guys feedback has been immensly helpful!

  4. I tryed 8 or 10 times to sign up but no luck. Generally when people try to sign up but have dificulty they will never go back. Would be good to see the website without havning to sign up, but have registration only for those that want to post.

Working on making registration optional :)

Umm I think you have registered successfully, it sends you a registration email (might be caught in your spam folder), but you don't need to activate your account using it. Just type in your details to the login form and you're off!

  5. Cool idea dude, my first comment would be don't make people sign up to see the sight... personally i won't sign up for things until I check em out.

Secondly, why not a dotcom rather than dotcodotnz? seems that it would make sense to have an international site to procure more content and more revenue..

Will sign up later and have a good look :)

    Thanks mate :)

The main reason I wanted it to require sign-ups means I can manage how many people are using it - which is good at the moment 'cos I have no idea if it will hold up to 100 users at the moment...

I would love to have a .com - but finding one that is halfway decent and available is a challenge :( Luckily there are a lot more .co.nz domains available

  6. The site nolancer is refering to is http://www.build-threads.com/

One of my favs, showcases mean builds from around the globe

Yeah that was sort of the inspiration for this - but I wanted a more crowd-sourced version.

Eventually when there are enough cars/members on AutoReligion I can do neat stuff like a monthly "Best of", and recommend new builds to checkout out based on what you like (and then of course, showing things you probably don't like less often).

Thanks heaps for all the feedback guys :D

  7. What would be a swell as fuck idea, is to try and make it ultra-legit and be picky about what goes up.

Basically, people "apply" to have their shit up on your site. That way, you cover only what is quality and your site is recognised as a choice port-of-call for rad builds. Kinda like that build/project blog (name escapes me) except people approach you as opposed to thread trawling on your behalf. The best way to get it started is to get some well known and well built cars up there I would think

I understand that's not the aim of your site, but perhaps an off-shoot aspect of it?

Yeah I had an idea about featured rides, which I think is similar to what your talking about. Like an online magazine but with user contributed content right?

Thanks for the feedback mate :)

  8. Hope this isn't out of line admins, or in the wrong place - but I hoped you guys might like this:

    http://www.autoreligion.co.nz

I've been working on it a while now, trying to work out a better way of publishing and keeping track of build threads. This is only a beta and stuff isn't completely polished but I'd love to hear some feedback on the idea/execution.

Please try it out and let me know what you think!! :)

Don't be afraid to tell me the hard truth ;)
