  1. Ive got 2 carbs from 4g32 out of an EX. One is from a slightly newer model auto and the other is from 1980 manual and they're both slightly different.

I'll take a quick measurement of both this afternoon for ya :)

  2. Those 90's models Suzuki Swift GTI's seem pretty decent! Seen alot of guys get them to quite respectible speeds 8)

Fuel injected, 1300cc twin cam goodness and you can buy a chip to put in to make them even better! Used to have one of the crappy single cam 4-door models and that wasnt too bad till my bro rolled it

  3. Does anyone know where I can get a starter motor reconditioned? It spins but the gear comes out real slow and I guess it doesent have enough oomph to engage as I can hear tyhe starter motor spinning but engine not turning over, but on the bench the gear come out ok but slowly.

  4. I want to get my carb and distributor rebuilt and tuned and I was wondering if anyone knows any recommended guys to take my car to in the hamilton area or somewhere kinda close.

My car is a lancer EX with standard 4g32 engine and carb.

I went to The Carby Shop in Frankton and they told me to, instead of rebuilding it to standard, to redrill the jets bigger as they run lean by default? Well I think mines running rich and he seems to think redrilling the jets on my standard carb would be better than a Weber jetted to suit?

My distributor I want to get rebuilt because I was told the vacuum diaphragm is working but not holding vacuum? So I thought I might as well get it rebuilt and then I KNOW that the timing ect is advancing as it should.. Can I just pick this diaphragm part up from a mitsi dealer or Repco or something or will I need to take it somewhere to be rebuilt?

For the time being I really just want my car to be standard, but run really nice like it should and not have any problems.

Thanks for any input, info and advice would be much appreciated as I'm still learning this stuff..

  5. Yup, thats exactly what it turned out like for me when I did it the last time.

I think I might use a not so harsh product this time as I have no real scratches this time. I just want to fix the fading. this CRC RE-PO stuff I used has extra cut polish (red tin) and normal polish (blue tin) it says to use the normal polish on new cars and clear coates ect.

So that 3M stuff isint so harsh as what I used? If not I might get some of that, or maybe try some first if I could?

I really dont want to waste any more money or ruin my paint so I dont know weather to go with what I used the last time or just a less harsh polish?

Ive got some wax so I'll wax it ever now and then so hopefully I dont get this problem again

  6. Yeah, that patchy stuff just came up after I took it through the car wash so I'm guessing its just leftover wax.. rubbed off real easy when I first noticed it but now it dosnt come off too easily.. washing the car made it a little better but its still there as you can see in the pics.

I'm not worried about that white spot as its only tiny. I might not use the stuff I used last time after reading this as its a cream and might be a bit harsh? But it did come up really great last time. Might try some liquid stuff I have called Re-Po Paint Doctor, or the warehouse has this CRC stuff which comes in 2 bottles, one cuts and shines it up I think and the other polishes and waxes. You apply them in a step 1 and 2 process.

I have really no idea what to look for when it comes to good rubbing compounds, I'm only mentioning this CRC stuff ect because I work at the warehouse and get discount.. I have access to a buffer too so thats not a problem but I'm worried about going through the paint while using a buffer? I got told to only use for waxing?

What was the stuff called you're talking about Fuel?

Thanks for all your advice! Better to be safe than sorry!

  7. Yup, I'll take some photos for ya. As for using that CRC stuff, the paint came up mint last time I used it and the paint is just getting lighter and lighter on the side thats always in the sun over time so gonna see if I can fix it up as I never waxed it the last time which I really should have done!

  8. It was in this condition last time I did it I think and it turned out really nice. Most of the white crap is residue from when I took it through car wash and it just wont come off, but it comes off if I rub with my finger..

There is a small white spot on my bonnet that definitly didnt come off last time and it might ave got slightly bigger, I'm assuming thats what you're talking about?

The white spots I'm talking about arent white like that.. Just like faded yellow, cant tell unless you look close

I bought some wax so I'm gonna make sure I wax it this time

  9. Bought some of that CRC Extra Cut cream polish for my car cause its fading and turning white. I have used it once before and it came up GREAT!

Just worried about going through the paint by using it again? Should I be worried? Dont really know much about the details of polishing..

  10. Thats really good info Ke36, I understand now..

Fthe 1600's I'm sure its 165 as thats what I had on before I got new ones and in my book it also says:

    1200EX - 155SR13

    1600EX - 165SR13

So now I just need to find out the proper sidewall size..

  11. I know the 165 bit is right because they're the same as the back which are still the old ones but that 80, is that the sidewall size? I'd like to know that if possible.. The book I have is just the book you get with the car and it only says "165SR13"

They new ones on the front and the old ones on the back are both 165's but the back ones are quite a bit wider than the front. This just because different brand of tyre? I dont know anything about tyres..

  12. Hey guys

I have a Lancer EX with 1600cc 4G32 engine with stock steel wheels.

I just got some new tyres put on the front and they're skinnier than the old ones and also I'm sure the sidewall is bigger. The new tyres are 165/80/SR13.

I thought from memory the old ones were 165/75/sr13 or something? But I'm not sure..

Does anyone know the standard tyre size for my car?

  13. I live in TA and was talking to my neighbour the day after it happened and he asked if I knew him and I was like nah man howcome? And thats when he told me what happened and that it was his brother.. Dont really know what to say to something like that.. Sux real bad..

The paper said that the steering wheel was a steel rim with spokes and in the collision the rim came off and was pretty much like knives and both were not wearing seatbelts and got thrown out of the car..

The whole situation seems pretty stupid and the car definitly wasnt safe but still this shouldnt happen to anyone and its sad to see this stuff keep happening..
