Went with mike to check this out its mean. Needs abit of time spent on little things, but other wise 4age it and its ready for a fang! The full size ae86 rear end means that decent dish is out of the question but those 15's should clean up nice boe

Actually that is a common misconception, straight-cut gears aren't stronger than helical-cut. Helical gears are generally stronger, due to more surface area being in contact on the mated gear faces. They do have a lower efficiency though, hence why they are popular in motorsport, but even then they aren't everywhere you'd think they'd be.
Was fully going to post that up helical gears = more teeth contact area. Only reason some straight cut sets are tougher is because they have larger gear sets + made of better material

cheers boe wider wheels are at the top of my list to get this thing looking better. Yea the boot looks sweet but its rusting hard between the webbing and the boot lid but the parts carhas a mint one. Im probly just going to give it a propper gun job matty b again for the nats. Hamilton bogan stz

Finally got a camera so posting up one of my projects its not the most exciting but its kind of fun to drive. Its pies old sx60 the guy I bought it off matty b'd it with spray cans so im not to happy about that, its bogan as at the moment and lacking chrome. Its 1s-u powered, W55, and live f series rear. Wheels are 14*7 rear and 14*6.5 volkmesh's polished up with new stainless fastners
The pics are abit crappy due to lack of space at my pad, its got no rear muffler so cant realy go for a drive to get better ones.
pics of the rust and the repair Ive done on one side dont laugh at the welds my patch was abit small!
the mighty 1s-u goes ok but I need to change it out, I already have a 1jz project and am not the biggest fan of m and g sixes so a vvti 3sge would be ideal. But leaning to a 4 or 5sfe for an easy swap for daily duties. Got a lsd and am buying a better set of rubber for track day so should be fun, whale racing on!
This is the 1g out of the chaser parts car I grabbed off ken. He was an animal to it and threw a rod out the block. Has a mint blue interior and all the chrome I need so stoked about the score cheers ken!

depends on the compression ratio as theres a few versions of both from different years with emission gear etc. doesnt seem to be much in it torque wise.

haha the 1s-u has 100hp, 18rg for me would only be an option if i had a older toyota with a lesser R series engine in place. Other wise for the fucking around and the gains go 1jz six throttles as above

Perhaps we should have another hamilton OS meet (ie not OTP) some time soon. I'm sure everyones as keen as I am to see this beast, plus escortas starly and a couple others that should be getting sorted soon enough.

believe i used 320 to take it back to bare metal
jesus thats intense 320 to go back to metal would take forever. Grinder with a sanding disk or wire wheel which ever you prefer. Then sand or paint strip the cunty bits. different story if your going for a scuff up and paint over top
