-
OS = bunch of good cunts cheers to admin for organising it all was awesome. Shit yea track day ruled would be keen as for another soon, would give me motivation to get a better engine it my car.
-
talked to a guy at corsa motorcycles today, asking about bike carbs etc, he was saying the main reason he thought bike carbs would work is that they flow so much air(12,000 rpm has alot of air), seemed like a reasonable explanation to me.
more spam in brads thread, but thats a silly statement a 40mm bike carb will pretty much flow the same as a 40mm throttle body of a 20v which only revs to 8000ish. its all a cost and convenience thing which way you go
-
^ yea boe take trailer anyway I'll probly blow my car up or something
-
thats awesome, looks like it needs some attention but still mint
-
^ how do they track its from him? different return address on it should sort it? surely customs cant take that much notice of every package thought they only sample a % of them
-
yea I was thinking are you just going to drive it on the base tune? because if the base tune is for the stock manifold it will be way out, normal manifold has a linear fuel curve quads its more curved (bad explanation) just learnt that from the 4age and megasquirt days <= probably the least of your worries though
-
yup shes been well covered

awesome article put up on here somewhere anyway gives you an idea of how to set it up
-
its been discussed on here a little now and then brad put up an excellent article on the Yamaha R1 carbs which seem pretty awesome, I'll try find it. Also going with newer bike carbs is recommended they stay in tune better
-
probably seen this boe but checked this sight out years ago went back the other day he lubs your m16 engine
-
meh theres no hard and fast rule for each car but seen a few tezzas with 2.25 after market jappa zausts. MR2 is fine to run bigger as its shorter doesn't cool as much and the velocity will stay up. Meh really would need to dyno several to find out/who cares
-
yea thats a mean setup you have, the pic you showed is the 26B thats in that link I put up which made the page to wide and gay. Yamaha has a two stage setup on there bikes now where instead of the trumpets retracting in length they pull 'in half' sort of to give a shorter trumpet its pretty cool. Wasnt saying to implement the veriable trumpet idea brad just saying its cool! and if I owned dyno it would be mean to setup for a hp or two!
-
haha should look into getting them full variable instead of two stage, check the picks of the mazda lemans 26B uses what looks like a electric window motor and a cable and pulley system I would post the pics up but there huge!
Would be a prick to setup I'd say plus would need countless hours on the dyno but dreams are free
-
sweet as bro things are looking up should get it done on my lonesome maybe compressor cant keep up with the orbital which is gay
-
I've gotta take the old matty B off it as it was cans with no prep at all my paint will just fall off. should get it done in time easy just have a sick day or something
-
Hey any of you hamiltron dudes (mike) wanna help sand my car over some beers in the weekend? things are going slow by myself
-
its at kihikihi theres a silvia round the back there light green colour dunno what they'd charge probably around $50, the guys are sweet once they know you but can be cunts/don't give a shit
also might want to take someone with you to help move the car around thats on top of it you cant open the bonnet much
-
Ford beats Toyota in quality stakes (US)
Rofl at the biased title of that article if you read through the whole doc the mustang beat the sporty camry in the middle sport car section so it should
-
thats not how the actual atlantic ones run though aye? the one i seen has a tiny ring gear so the motor can sit lower. obviously cant use that without the atlantic transaxle
-
there is one at a wreckers here but I have no time to pull it for you but some other hams person may be able to, could be a last resort
-

yea blacktops run 11:1 and on a link you can still push a lot of timing into it on 98. So I'd say you could go abit higher
edit: ^ we posted at the same time boe, I'd say thats largely due to the combustion chamber shape
