If you can find one, a TA63 Celica with 3T-GTEU 1800cc twin spark twin cam turbo engine would be cool.
boe im keen as for some ta63 goodness group b stz, there hard to find
-
well dude with a 1jz has done 40,000kms in a 1500kg car with 240kws on an unknown condition box. some of the higher hp guys destroy them but jag = fine. Im doing a 6 throttle conversion just need to copy that * 2 haha but depends on your port spacing and angles so could be easy/hard. Start collecting those 20v throttles you'll need 4 sets as you cant use the end ones
-
yea shop around for a 910 there mean and can be picked up cheapish
-
The gear box will be by far the weakest part of the car after the conversion. So i will have to nanny it/nah
your running a w5* aye? people run 200kw+ at the wheels through these no worries, I think you'll be fine
-
could be a good weekend for a couple of us hams cunts to come round, if im not doing any car shit that weekend
-
^ I agree with you there on some engines have quite decent cast manifolds but the 1uz ones are literally a log. Pretty sure theres dyno results on the soarer forums of pretty crappy extractors giving gains. Anyway havn't found those pics yet but will keep looking
-
Aren't they all real crappy logs?(think theres more than 3 if you count the real new stuff). Ive got a few pics of some in cressidas etc where its real tight will try and find them. Equal length is ideal but in reality anything is better than the stockers. Also 8 throttle bodies please
-
yea tonight was going to be a nah from me to still catching up on sleep from last week. but its booked in at my pad so im in
-
yea sweet edited as the image didnt work, its to soon from nats to organise a hard out otp but if anyone wants to drop in, mean
-
boes speaking of otps theres a few brews going down here tonight. You may remember this chap
hes jetting overseas so cranking out a few brews/ air guitars[/img]
-
So you can bring me in some bits?
-
Hmmm yea intercooler is still desirable as compressing air generates heat tis basic thermodynamics. Crazy v8 setups still run intercoolers usually water/something colder sits under the super charger. I think an sc14 is a pretty asthmatic charger its runs out of puff pretty quick on a 1ggze. Also yea throttle after the blower = just run a couple of bov's to vent the pressure, seen a few 4agze's setup like this its stops the lag of the engine sucking up the air in the cooler piping when you throttle off. But gives you crazy throttle response with that boost waiting there basically pushing the butterfly open!!
-
there clearly joking like anyone would block the race track
-
haha mean boe the sanding was for that matty b job it had for nats. engine swap time now
-
Yea looking good dude, your in the same boat as me looks mean but would be insane with some more dish
-
yea and whats the 910 weigh? heavier cars just bog down NA screamers
-
^ Thats some high horse from your capacity! would have to spin in fairly high I'd say? anyway pies sorry for off topic but yea Im a NA fan but gotta weigh up the costs and benefits and how much you can do yourself
-
I think the mini would be the same deal as uncle jake with the 10.5:1 most 2v heads are pretty closed up where modern 4v heads are relatively open and arn't as prone to detonation. Yea and 12:1 is pushing it but as said above with bigger cams static compression is lower anyway
-
yea blacktops run 11:1 and on a link you can still push a lot of timing into it on 98. So I'd say you could go abit higher
edit: ^ we posted at the same time boe, I'd say thats largely due to the combustion chamber shape
-
booked out for the next few weeks got abit to sort out after crazy nats preparation
-
OS = bunch of good cunts cheers to admin for organising it all was awesome. Shit yea track day ruled would be keen as for another soon, would give me motivation to get a better engine it my car.
-
talked to a guy at corsa motorcycles today, asking about bike carbs etc, he was saying the main reason he thought bike carbs would work is that they flow so much air(12,000 rpm has alot of air), seemed like a reasonable explanation to me.
more spam in brads thread, but thats a silly statement a 40mm bike carb will pretty much flow the same as a 40mm throttle body of a 20v which only revs to 8000ish. its all a cost and convenience thing which way you go
-
^ yea boe take trailer anyway I'll probly blow my car up or something
-
thats awesome, looks like it needs some attention but still mint

^ think your confused there w57 was just the next box after the 55 with slightly different ratios (5th gear only) Ive seen them in celicas and cressidas with a range of shifter positions. there is a w56 and 9 that came behind diesels and vans
