Different plugs so need to do some re wiring. Did this with mine. Unfortunately no longer have which wires go where saved so can't help any more sorry.

edit: still have a message i sent to another member of where the wires go. Copied and sent via pm. Hope this helps. Also hope you have the 1600 cluster plugs with it.

Walked, fuck that. We're talking a solid hour plus on a skateboard. plus it was during my booze free phase, so getting maggoted and coma-ing out for the night was out of the question/ Not to mention commuting across town with an extra cunty hand clutch was easiser when there was fuck all traffic.

Couldn't you have just rolled no clutch. first gear starts and clutch less changes. have done this in a couple of cars.

GTX i had was to low in the front for a wof. Made some blocks out of wood to go between spring top hat and strut top hat to give extra 2cm. in to get my sticker then remove for more low. Thanks VTNZ.

Ok so type 2 is the one you get on the Euro spec stars etc. I should have one of those kicking around somewhere that has come off my widebody. I will have a look around for you.

Not sure what type starion eci unit i have but if its the right one your welcome to buy it off me. Has been modded with an adaptor plate to face forwards.

Also without an intercooler prob don't want to run more than 10psi. The starions are supposedly meant to have a boost cut around there anyway. but mine never cut in my ex. Ran 12psi for a little bit with no intercooler but don't think it was safe. Tried 15psi also but had bad engine marbles(detonation) so only did that once. Went alright on 10 anyway being so light compared to the starions. That was with a TC05 aswell.

Looks like was a pretty sweet day. Wanted to go have a look at what was happening but had other commitments. Will be making an effort to get a car out there for the next one. Think the lancer may well be suited to that sort of event.

So engine is toast. No surprises there really. was nearly using as much oil as petrol. So out it comes. going to pull it down and decide where to go from there. Unsure if i want to go forged pistons yet. and may go DOHC but have not decided on that either.

So Developing a list of things to do:

firstly clean engine bay.

If i stay SOHC i will modify plenum and add a bigger throttle body out of a commodore or something.

tidy wiring and replace plugs with something not shit.

Make alloy intercooler piping.

make nice stainless heat sheild.

Cut shit out so radiator gets more airflow.

Udgrade fuel pump and lines and add a surge tank. sick of loosing power around corners.

Find a good lsd and get new drive shaft made up.

Sort out some decent suspension

Im sure i will find more to do aswell.

then once engine built and back in will tune it for 20+psi and do skids

got lancer going. Road legal and all. Rings do not agree and now drinks oil like there is no tomorrow.

Starion has gathered another couple mm of dust. Currently trying to sort out my VR4 so i can sell it and rebuild the lancer engine, so i can get started on the starion. Also no job = limited cash + lots of time = frustrating.

cool are the pistons and rods the same strenth

starion rods are as strong if not stronger than vr4. starion pistons not as good though. are the weak part of the engine.

Yeah have to make custom passenger side mount if using 1200 Xmember. 1600 requires no changes.

Starion sway bar ends site back a little bit but still functions fine(allot better than standard bit of wire), and goes through wofs fine aswell.

my setup is 1200 crossmember. starion lower arms and struts. all standard lancer steering. Starion sway bar. have not had any problems. possibly over thinking a reasonably simple task.

only thing i had to fabricate for 1200 xmember in my whole conversion was the passenger side engine mount for that starion engine. all pretty much bolts together like lego

Another update without pics.

Car is now fully road legal. Had running for a day and shitty trademe wastegate decided didn't want to play ball. brought a tial replacement so no longer a problem.

Replaced all inner and outer tie rods and lower ball joints.

Passed WOF with exhaust db reading of 96db. VTNZ man said it was within reason. i wasn't arguing.

Took out with brother and passport g timer for a base run. Still havn't finished fine tuning. Ran a 14.7 @ 95mph with brother still in car and backed off about half second before run was complete. Only did single run as i still only have standard 1600 diff and it is starting to make funny noises. Only running 10psi atm and will prob need rebuild before going to 16-18psi.

engine is standard atm. Wil c how long it lasts. Only running 9psi but once i have sussed out tuning a bit more will be increasing to 14.

Turbo not as laggy as i was expecting. Although doesnt hit ful boost in first and not til 5000rpm in second. Feel good in 3rd onwards.

Old 14s were 7" wide. Cant remember the offset but they looked choice with no springs.

Well did some road tuning yesterday. Was all going well until the clutch decided it had enough. Have some video and pics to put up when i get to a decent computer.

wow has been a while.

Lancer is now running. have just brought an innovate single channel air fuel thingymajig to try and tune it and hoping to have it in for a wof next week.

no pictures yet as have no internet at home.

could possibly effect response due to there being more volume to fill between the turbo and the throttle body.
