Perhaps the housing is slightly warped or something, and each time a new diff head is put in it still blows because of a tweaked axle? Or have you changed the whole diff aswell as the head?
no i have just been changing the diff head each time, i have another whole diff setup, i was thinking of changing the whole setup over, what are the differences between the 1600 sport axel's and normal escort ones
i noticed someone posted picks up of his axels and the slpines were slightly twisted/wrapped around the shaft but mine were straight

this time i was on a wet road, i was stopped and when i went to take of it started wheels spinning and so i tryed to get traction, it deffinatly wouldn't have revved past 4,000rpm then it stareted to get traction then loose traction and about 3 secs after the wheels started spinning the diff went BANG! so yea this all happened within about 3-4 secs max. thats one thing i dont get... why MY diff's keep blowing, the only things i could put it down to were power and 28yr old parts. i run the 4.1 ratio and i was also thinking i have seen other cars do many burn outs on standard diff so why do mine keep breaking

yea with a bit of extra strong super glue... or i could just weld it up and make a lock diff

while i was under the car i noticed i had gas shocks to so i stiffened them up a bit

i fixed it thanks for your help guys i just got a soft faced hammer and hit it out. and i wasnt doing skids either. also the diff setup i picked up cost $125 and has a 1600 sport half shaft in it so i thought that was a pretty good deal

is there any tricks to pulling the drive shafts out mine dont seem to want to come out

hey guys i have blown a 2nd diff and i really need something stronger in there what are my options without having to change the rear end etc or is there not many diff heads that will bolt into the same housing for a 79 escort

hey guys, finances have been tight lately so i havn't been able to actually do anything to my car other than... blow another FCUKING DIFF like tonight ,so had to tow it home just as my night was getting good AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
i REALLY REALLY need to upgrade the rear end or something to a hilux rear end ARGH DAMN CARS

your right it has but i was saying instead of carburettors because you cant use tvis what about quad throttles with trumpets

they open at about 45000rpm and its done by some preassure system i cant remember
i would love to put trumpets with a quad throttle body system on the intake side instead of the plenum man that would sound mean!

but if i take the butterflys out of tvis then tvis wouldnt not exist right?
are gou saying its better to not run tvis than to fun it? i have the big port engine

it is a standard engine so it got standard plenum

i want the sound of some sidy's and i think a set of side drafts with tumpets would look far better than a plenum etc. i also talked to a guy about putting black top quad throttle bodies on my 4age and he said waste of time you wont gain anything

i have 8 runners on the engine in my car but the extra head i have in storage doesnt have intake runners on it, the intake runners i have is for a 4agze and there is only 4 of them i know its 4agze because it says 4agze on it

not sure i bought it with the electric fan on it also i have a 4age in mine so there is heaps of room between the motor and fan
