  1. hey cheers guys not my best behaviour but funny none the less only just remembered my name yesterday,

cheers for the hangover reducing ride home in the reverbatron,

and cheers for not just shooting me when i was down as then i'd be sufferin a hangover and a gunshot wound

  2. the gemini diff carrier is the same as the commodore however,

gemi diffs are 23 spline axles

    4 cyl commie 25 spline

    6 cyl 27

    toyota lsd normally 32,

the piazza diffs lsd are hens teeth dont bother

single spinner piazza diffs are stronger than the gemi but still snap axles,

bonus to the piazza diffs is the torque tube set up otherwise a control arm or for link must be made,

mcdonald racing does the control arms ex aus for 550,

the triangulated 4 link is 800,

have done a few bits an pieces but an

8 3/4 ford lsd is on the cards for me with the four link

  3. stroked 1600 to 1800, crow cam from oz,

bigger valves hardened seats and bigger springs,

mild port to 36mm inlet id metal headgasket,

racing oil pickup from oz baby gilmers and hopefully twin dellorto downies

by tonight if i pull finger,

soon to catch full stainless exhaust an extractors,

has gemi 5 speed piazza twincam flywheel pressure plate and clutch,

    soon to be lightened,

modest really bring on track day

  4. will have some in car shots to ogle if we're cruisin next saturday twin downies on a stainless manifold (man i love milling machines) and might get the extractors started for a perve just gotta find a panel filter and a whales penis to make up a plenum,

money can be exchanged for sanding duties if anyone is interested?

put out the call far and wide bring all the ladies down from heaven and turn them into bikini clad mechanics (no offence trd chick but my head fits under your guard) if at all clad!

    onya boys!

  5. the 1600 has a slightly smaller clutch an pressure plate but the ring gear is the same size an the splines are the same so grab a g200 flywheel an attack it with a lathe coz theyre a heavy bastard designed for utes,

the gemini diff does bolt in but you will have to sort your shocks out my chevette was a wagon so not absolutely sure on the turrets i do know the tops bang off them in the hatch if you get shock lengths wrong,

the gearbox mounts on a chevette sit about mid way down a gemi gearbox near where it can be split apart i made a cradle that bolted to the join in the gearbox using longer bolts nordlocks and a dose of locktight which seemed to hold together and then onto the chevette mounts on the body was a bit fiddly but my 75year old pop gave me a hand an said it was easier than doin ahead gasket

  6. firstly the radiator needs to be pushed forward a wee bit so no more latch,

the motor sits onto the crossmember but ditch the chevette mounts theyll rip in ten mins or solid mount it to get all the torque down,

gearbox fits in the tunnel but must relocate the shifter hole gemini 4 speeds are stronger than the five the gearbox mounts are a lil challenging but doable, as the gemi gearbox is 300 or so mil longer so strung up a mid gearbox mount to the chevette body,

driveshaft is a custom item remember the universal has sealed bearings so grease nipples are needed after welding it back up,

gemini or piazza diff will work just whatever suits piazza gains discs out back but no biggy piazza brakes are a straight swap apart from the steering tie rod,

any questions ask dont forget chevette has remote solenoid for starter so rewire for the gemi unit and i ran the chevette alternator

    happy trials

  7. nah more efficient no slip like a v belt so ure water pump and alternater are runnin constantly at 100% where as you will get slip at high revs although you wont here it with the v's

i plan to run a supercharger at some stage so having them already will be a bonus

  8. sure will do when we get to it,

hopefully soon so i can get the block to the reconditioners and the wag to the painters then final assembly after xmas sometime well it'll probly never be final i've seen a 4 link kit that'll fit under a gem and found plans how to run a watts link with it and coilovers where does it end

  9. yep he'll pretty much do anything,

i can't say what its costing me but a certain hilux ute of mine now lives in his drive way and hes a long lost family friend,

basically with mine hes goin to copy some extractors of mine of mild equal

the lengths up and build them from stainless making a jig as he goes for future builds ,

my mild sytem cost me on $800 bucks so i will clear up with him some sort of pricing scheme,

do a measure how many bends for ure 1 uzfe of what diameter ports you have im presuming you will run twin systems or are you going to a collective single after the extractors,

hes getting my flanges cut at the mo so he can dummy it in the car on a weekend then pull it all out an do the final weld on the following weekend,

i suspect until hes done a few jigs thats how he will operate

the hassall will byfar outweigh the reward

  10. i have always wondered does puting newschool tech into an oldschool ride make it still an oldschool ride or an orphin,

i have huge respect for guys running period performance,

    bda anglias cortinas and escorts,

but what of those that drop an sr20det in are they in the club,

rotary conversions are done into everything and anything but does the year of your engine count,

if i run coilovers in my gemmy does that delete as being oldschool, the technology was around in eighty four,

    regardless we're all car fanatics,

Whats YOUR Take on the matter?

  11. hey guys ebr is at a wedding this weekend so will speak to him monday an

    will sort prices out

basically he told me he buys the stainless through his work and does the systems in his weekend the mandrel bends cost more than most of the other materials and the flanges being lasercut is being sourced at the moment the rounded caps also cost a bit

but he can build to your desire personally

i'm running a g200z in my gemmy wag,

hes doin the exhaust in 4 sections all removeable for ease of maintenance,

    extractors equal length 4-2-1,

to straight 2 or 2 1/4 to split with side by side resonators back to single,

removeable mandrel bent section for over the diff, and then rear 6" muffler with 4" drooped tip,

as there will be not much distance between my car an the deck,

hes been doin a bit of a trick with the tips by running a secondary pipe inside the tip flared out to the large outside one looks so mint and reduces the chance of losing a chunk of your shin if you bump into it,

he can do stuff out of mild but as above have to get prices

why go mild go wild is what i say,

exhaust looks tatty out of stainless drop it in the acid bath new again,

where as mild by the time youve forked out for hpc there may not be much price difference,

and the bling factor of course,

personally i don't run a turbo but good luck with your guys argument lol,

i would think well common sence suggests you would lose abit of torque

if you go to big and gain a bit of power which is fine at 200k but really most of the driving in nz is between 80 and 200 tracks included,

i would be wanting the torque to get to 200 faster but really i wouldn't want to go any faster than that without a diper well not in a gemmy at least

ol mans ol group a brock knocked on 190mph but the ol cunt sold it

  12. Exhausts By Ricky EBR i will contact him and find out for you dont know if he has a mobile or not and i wouldnt just post his home number,

are you wanting extractors through to muffler?,

he was originally building exhausts under contract 4 coby but has refined the art.

  13. i've just come across a new exhaust man that is doin mostly stainless but anything and everything,

currently hes making a full stainless system for my gemini wag

and fuck hes good, never seen so much bling in me life,

hes cheap compare with a muffler shop you'll be surprised

making jigs for extractors as he gets a project his welding is seamless and hes ticketed up too his product will withstand nuclear fallout

i'll post pics once hes done my system

EBR exhausts they are the shit,

once the jigs are done he will be able to produce more product,

compare coby quoted $800 for extractors out of mild, he'll do it out of stainless for less, i know what i would rather

    EBR exhausts get one
