  1. Cheers. I don't know the specs of the cam - It came with a rebuilt engine I bought which had last been used in a racing boat - so no suprise as idle probably wasn't very high on their priorities. Speaking of, do you know anyone who manufactures extractors for 4G32 RWD?
  2. True. It is good at high revs - but tends to run on 3 cylinders on startup (until you rev it). It's close though. I was just a bit shocked that I was only getting 250k's max out of a 40L tank. So you think a standard carb jetted for a 1600 is not key? Sadly my budget doesn't really extend to a new manifold & webbers etc. I do have stock twin carbs, but they needed rebuilding. Ideally I'd just take it back to standard with the stock 1600 cam. Guess I'll start looking. Cheers.
  3. Gidday. Couple of things: I've been trying to get my 4G32 (1600) Saturn engine running sweet - I was having difficuilty tuning it to run well, idle and cold-start with a lumpy cam, so I put them cam in from my old 4G36 (1200), which created a whole new set of problems. So I've put the lumpy cam back in as it is the lesser of two evils. Does anyone know if there is a difference between a chain drive 4G36 (1200) cam and a stock standard chain drive 4G32 (1600) cam? If so does anyone have a standard 4G32 chain cam they'd be willing to sell me. Alternatively, What modifications do I have to make to run a lumpy cam properly? I currently have it idling at over 1000 rpm and I have a high power coil but there are still a couple of plug fouling issues - and the consumption is fucking ridiculous. Cheers.
  4. I'd be keen on those GSR calipers - I'll email you about them soon. The car is my daily & I work full time so don't have too much time to play with it (hence wanting to keep my standy struts). Cheers.
  5. Cheers fellas. The car flew through it's warrent which I didn't expect, so I've got a while longer to sort it. I'll look into an EX GSR upgrade methinks. Saw pics of your car, Caboonatlarge on the Old Mitsubishi yahoo group email. Looks stunning. Nicely mounted guages in those little empty dash cowels!
  6. I just didn't want to change the struts if I didn't have to. The car is pretty mint. If new struts would make a big difference I would consider it. Sorry to be a pain, but do you know if the Celeste GSR calipers/pads have a greater surface area? (than old lancer calipers).
  7. Cheers! If you could look in your magical book that would be awesome! If the celeste GSR calipers do fit, I'd be keen as if you could sorce a pair. That is assuming they are a better caliper - are they single or twin pot? + How much would you want for them? Mines a 1200 too but I've got big plans. Thanks Heaps
  8. True, Cheers Fellas. (It's the first generation, 'L' shaped tail lights by the way). So Celeste GSR or Sigma Turbo brakes then? This may sound blasphemous, but I was hoping to keep my existing struts and hopefully even rotors. Are there any slightly better calipers that will bolt on? If not, Caliper and rotor setup? It's just one of my calipers is seized and I was hoping I could replace them with a more effective pair.
  9. Gidday. I'm looking to upgrade the front brakes in my '76 lancer and was wondering if anyone knew of an obvious, hopefully 'bolt in' solution (e.g, EX lancer, Cordia, Celeste brakes?) Does anyone know if any of these will just bolt on? cos I don't really have a clue. Also very keen on sourcing a 4G32 chain drive shortblock, any advice on where to find one would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!
