  1. I was thinking of the ajax powder trick. Buy the stuff from supermarkets for about $3 bucks. Warm engine up then hold it @ around 5 to 6000 rpm & drop a couple of table spoon fulls into the intake. The grit in the powder scuffs up the bores & rings & will remove any glazing & the rings may start to seal better after this is done. I noticed results by the lessened amount of exhaust smoke straight away. Remember to change the oil & filter straight away as you dont want this crap in your oil. ( i didnt do this in my vr4 engine by the way)

  2. Mitsis Dont like re builds. Ive found that most of them smoke after a re ring. The best way to cure this is to re bore & fit new pistons & rings. Most engine reconditioners will tell you this.

There is a very rangi way of kinda curing the problem but its results can be either good or bad. Let me know if you want to know about it.

  3. Thats cool man. Before i built my blue ex, i had a gold/brown one with a 12valve dash intercooled motor b4 swapping to a vr4 motor. Was sooo much fun sittn @ the lights beside a car load of fellas in a scooby or evo & watching them laugh @ u in "nanas" car, then watching their laughs disappear as you blast past them.

  4. Manifold is made to fit a evo/vr4 with T3 flange with turbo in nearly the factory position . Ive just turned it upside down by using a adapter between the manifold and the head. Ill try 2 get some pics of the setup on the car sometime.

  5. Dnt know what the go is now. Id say nufn as the guy did it as a homer.

I off to 4& rotor jamboree in brisbane in a cupl of wks so will see if i can find a turbo over there. Car flew thru cert, Didnt even have to have anythn rechecked, Got brakes, diff, suspension, seats, wheels & spacers all certd. They look for anythn that they can pick on.

  6. Those louvers look cool. Good to see that things are coming along nicely.

I had a turbo failure on mine thanks to my nice bling oil feed. I got a new 1 made by a hydraulic shop, They assured me that it wouldnt be too restrictive. They were wrong. Result = 1 dicked turbo. (beyond repair) Finally got car fully certed so, FDP. :D

  7. Yep a fan is definately needed. I have mine set to 86 degrees which is controlled thru the ecu and i find that it comes on, on hot days while idling around town etc and when its on turbo timer.
