Had a mitech that shat itself twice before they gave me a new replacement, which also shat itself. Sold it after paying to fix it after warranty ran out. Now using an oldschool nzig transtig which is awesomly crap but works at least..

Totally agree with NicT, everything you do is mint.
Blue silicon ruined my last engine bay, so yuck.

Its an e80 hatch. Pretty much exactly the same as a gt86 but probably a bit cooler because my Nana drives it.
Mint condition one owner and she's literal an old lady.
Read it and weep
And you own a Gemini... lol

Just read through this again as I've just bought a 98 RMX, this thread is full of win.
Have you still got this beast?
-
Do 15s count with small tyres? 13s are good if you want to rip the exhaust off on rural roads haha
Plus you have to be a badass mother fucker like Brad to roll low on 13s

Tried some copper gasket spray?

Nice one! If you didn't know already the XT250 shares a lot of parts incl the same engine, SR250 also has the same engine with a different carb
-
Up and running on the 36mm Keihin, runs awesome on the primary/pilot circuit with much better response and no annoying bog that the old carb had with the accel pump. Need to order some smaller main jets as the smallest I've got at the mo is super rich and bogs up top
Oh, I also gave it a hone and threw some new Wiseco rings in it as well, old ring gaps were all up the shit and was burning oil. New fork seals & oil, wheel bearings all done etc.
Bore wash central
If I remember, I'll grab some pics of the new carb setup

What are the little tie things you've used at the end of the braid?

I think I've got a set of those green injectors? Rail looks very familiar
-
Balanced rotating assembly, ARP fasteners, ACL bearings, NPR rings. Stir and enjoy
ARPs are kinda overkill for the current setup, but I may one day change to forged items and a bigger turbo for shits and giggles

Get a W58 if you can get one for a similar price. They have a better 5th gear ratio
-
Epic for a 4cyl

So I ended up building a Honda Hornet engine yesterday instead of working on this, but I made an inlet manifold to suit the xr400r carb today and I've got a few bits coming to finish/tidy up the engine
Also acquired an original steel tank a while back which I'm going to clean out and throw on
-
Got all the wheel bearings out tonight. 4 of em were rather grainy feeling and one was rather hard to turn at all by hand. Should have new ones in thursday night ready for another bash on friday afternoon
Sprockets look pretty good so I'm just going to soak the chain for a few days/nights as it's a bit rusty looking but doesn't have any tight spots
-
Oh, and I've ordered some armor and pants so I don't get so wasted if/when it happens again haha
-
Fell off this up the Waiohine gorge on sat morning. smacked my knee, grazed the shit out of my arm and got a few bruises. Broke the whole exhaust off it, bent the brake pedal right up, bent handle bars and smashed the throttle tube.
Had shit loads of fun apart from that, fixed her up temporarily and had another jaunt up Mt Dick on sunday which was even better and also had a a fang on my mates new yz450f, golly that thing is quick/scary
So, a few repairs are in order and some maintenance on the poor old thing. Fang it around pretty much every day I'm at the farm.

Just going off the comparison tests they have on youtube, I haven't actually tried any chinese ones - might be ok for a factory replacement but not sure I'd want to try on a boosted setup. Check these out
Sorry to hi-jack your thread, keep up the good work sir

Fuck that shit ^^
Some of those china injectors lock up at higher pressure, even I'm not that cheap lol - not worth the risk imo

Saw the pics on FB last night.
Totalled is the word that comes to mind.
But at least he climbed out and walked away afterwards.
Could have been a lot worse for him.
Built the cage himself which I thought was pretty cool

Please confirm that you are plumbing the 2no. external wastegates to vent directly to atmosphere underneath the car as per our previous discussions.
Confirmed.

mixing diff oils?
in General Car Chat

I've ran 50/50 redline with normal gear oil and it was fine
in saying that, clean your diff out properly, I'd be more worried about the shit floating around in there tbh
