lol actualy there is such thing as semi-forged. if u dont believe me il giv u a link as 2 where i got the info from. very helpful stuff.

actualy the 20v DO have coated pistons and got a feeling they have a steel crank aswell. it was the 88-90 4agze's that had the semi-forged pistons. 90-91 had forged and coated pistons, and the ae101 (92-95) had forged pistons aswell as lightened and forged rods. the cams in the 20v are different 2 the 4agze head aswell (4agze cam lift IN/EX was 7.1/7.1... 20v ae101 are 7.97/7.6. ae111 are 8.2/7.6). also the rods on the ae111 are lighten and ballanced but the 20v vlave rods are dramaticly different then the 16v. anyway theres some useless info lol. at the end of the day, after wot has unfortunatly hapend to the escort i think i should b spending the money iv got on getting it back on the road etc so lets just ditch the idea of 4age conversion 4 the mean time.

the other option is ditch the escort and pick up a dx rolla as they go 4 real cheap these days. im guessing it would make the whole conversion that much easier as its keeping it toyota in a toyota.

yea the k50 sounds like a good idea. do they match up bellhousings and flywheel etc? i think the first priority would be 2 get it in there first and then start playing around with it. i rang the guy yesterday and left a message but he hasnt called me back

you can put 4agze internals in the 20v block but not the whole 4agze block and a 20v head on it coz it dont match up. he can get the engine and box 4 round 400 he said. and he thinks its a gen 2 16v from a ae92 or fxgt. so box wont be needed. dont no how the fuc id find a t50 box and im gesing theyd cost a tad. also comes with loom aswell and know some1 that works that shit so mite have a chat 2 him bout organising a conversion project 4 him long term wise, like wot atro had done.

a mate of mine can sell me a 4age 16v and gbox 4 real cheap and was considering a conversion in2 the escort. im after any ideas on complications etc that i might come accross... i know il have 2 get hold hold of a t50 box or similar aswell as a ae86 rear end which will b tricky 2 get hold of. i think converting it 2 carbs mite b easier but the guy i know who can do is it pretty good with computers and ecus etc. bassically if u no any1 thats done it or got any comments on it, help me out. cheers
