i dont hav a cortina but would like to have a look at my escorts brothers and sisters.

and yours is still a cortina (MK1ONP) and fucking nice one at that.

hey mate, yeah its on saturday from 10am onwards, until mid afternoon, sunday there will be a run somewhere starting from riccarton market. i will, be there in 1500gt (red mk2) so hope to see you there...

  3. hmmmm do i class as a cortina or will they boo me out of the park :lol::lol:

nah mate, the more the merrier, its just a car show, i would really love to see your car now its finished, saw it in the build stage when i came to get some bits off that other wagon you were wrecking. so see you between 9 and 10??

  4. Hi team,

45 years of cortina is on this weekend at North Hagley park (by the armagh street bridge) from 10am, if you have a cortina that goes and can bring it down to display do it! gate for display cars is on harper ave. let me know if you need any more info...

    cheers

  5. wow theres a few guys here with mk2's now, great stuff, so by the look of your pics you are restoring the white one that was originally an auto? and the blue one is a 1600 super donor car?, the white one looks like it has a nice lean interior and quite a reasonable body... i have a 1600 super auto that i cruise around in myself, and have a mk2 wagon that im going to start restoring one day...

    pics of the wagon:

  6. ":5nw6w541]are there any cortina wagons there.. in particular mk2s... if anyone goes there can you get some pix for me.. might have to do a mission up to get some stuff for mine if they do...

There were plenty of cortinas. Couple of mrk1/2s - not sure which i'm not big on cortys. Saw one early wagon - GT version i believe hiding under a tree.

would love some pics of this as i have a mk2 gt wagon and a good friend of mine in ashburton has a mk1 gt wagon, we are always on the lookout for bits.. cheers 8)

  7. are you running a slightly worked engine? my cortina is and i was going thru a set of plugs every 3 months, i changed the plugs from the NGK XXX6e to the XXX5e (cant remember exact numbers) the 5e is a hotter plug so burns fuel better in a worked engine or something... thats what worked for me :D

  8. if it is a geniune 1500gt cortina it should go pretty well. mine has a stage2 cam, standard 28/36 carby factory flows slightly modified exhaust and will go 100mph no problems at all. a nice original gt is worth about 6-12k for a really mint original one so thats also something to consider, other things if you are going to make it a daily electronic ignition, put an oil filler breather and a ramflow on the carby, 1500's dont breath very well but if you do little things like that it all helps. dont do anything drastic like change the engine unless its stuffed got any pics of this beast and where are you located, i have a couple of mk2 gt's if you have any questions....

  9. Its that time of year again where i go crazy and buy more cortina's, i have just purchased this, its a 64mk1 with 81,000 miles, i am the third owner.... mmmm side drafts..... has been worked, when i got it it was column shift, i have converted it to floor change, an anglia gearbox donated its selectors... have since had the back seat re covered in black and am going to put mk2 gt bucket seats in there too.... i also have a GT 3 dial dash to go in one day too.....

    enjoy...
