Karl
-
got a good s/h set in my garage if you need some
-
yeah got a set of these for the cortina... they are one of the best period wheels you can get.
Im having some centre decals made up if you want i can get a cost for another set to be done?
-
one other thing is to check that all the bulb holders have good contact with the tail and park light assemblies on the mk2
-
any mk2 corty wagons hiding in that lot?
-
cheers karl
14x8 steels on the cortina...what you rekon? haha
well in a previous life in dunedin your car had some 15x8 globes on it so it should fit 14x8 steelies with ease
-
if you get stuck mate let me know/send me a text etc
-
pinto's arent hard to find are they? I have at least 10 of the things

we could fat up over evans pass, round thru to lyttleton round to the governers bay pub then round to teddington for a beer at the wheafsheaf and round to gebbies pass back to the sign of the kiwi. Thats a route the NZdatsun club does every queens birthday.
hehe..
the hunter is still dead from its last fang up evans pass should readlly get in and fix it

Fuck forgot about this Hillman discussion, the main difference between the Hunter motor and earlier Arrow units which has been overlooked..
5 main bearings versus 3!!!!!!!
WELL that is a BIG difference lol
Well the Hilly is running awesome now anyway.. put a chem weld in the head and that fixed it.
We're gonna run it as it is until is shits itself then we'll look at getting a Hunter unit. Or maybe get a hunter unit and store it so it's there when we need it. You still got them i500gt?
yep still got 1 of them here.... gonna sell all my hunter stuff soon so let me know if you want it...
-
you can red oxide that bonnet if you want to ... i dont mind.
-
I went for a look for the first time, was pretty big!, saw a cortina with a oldschool sticker in a club display. Yea lots of other crap other than car parts.
was most likely karls (i500gt). red?
correct was me
-
yeah got a 186 head for the kingswood, and a few other random odds and ends. there was more brick a brack crap than last year. it is turning more into a market than a car parts swapmeet
-
very nice, the colour and the mini lites give it the perfect stance
-
yeah im gonna put the cortina in the display area on saturday... im sure i will see some of you there
-
oh and karl, can you hook me up with the details for that dude in rangiora?

haha.
just been round a few more places. 2 said they werent that keen cause of the time involved so that it doesnt warp the rest of the bonnet, as about a inch wide strip will need to be taken out all across the bonnet. another place said 750+ gst, and another said worst case scenario 400
id be happy to pay up to 400 i spose....will see how my bonnet hunt goes.
just try and find another bonnet mate have you asked karl that you got the car off
hes a cortina guy?
bonnets are one of the hardest things to get hold off as they all rusted out years ago...
-
some inspiration for your new paint job
edit: minus that fugly black back panel of course
-
no black vinyl roof.. but you get the idea...

the older 2.8 trucks are really hard to find a good one now. got one myself for said parts hauler/daily/beach hack etc... I ended up getting one with a mint body and interior that had an engine problem, only turned out to be the turbo and a fully rebuilt one was $300 exchange so not overly expensive to fix either. i guess it all comes down to maintanence. if it was cracked head etc it would of been a completely different story
