My 1st car, was a hand me down 1980 2 door 323 wagon
2nd car 78 323 4 door hatch (note the camber on rear wheel, it didnt have independant rear, i smoked into a curb a few days before
)
My 1st rotary, paid $4500 for it, motor was tired so got a 12a bridgeport built

Hey mate just a quick question.
A friend of mine has a ma70 supra (7mgte) and its an auto, he wants to buy a 5m powered celica thats a manual and put the box , flywheel and clutch/pressure plate from the 5m onto the back of the 7m motor.
Will the 7m fit a 5m box?

im guessing that video you put on there is only cool if youve got sound hahaha...
watched it at work, just looked like a peeping tom watching the neighbour leave their house or seomthing hahaha
no sound = gay.
altho i must admit it did look like it goes hard when you took off... very impressive.
lol yeah sound is a neccesity
is it wheelspinning all the way up the road or is that just rotary noise?yeah i took off quite slow but at the end of 1st gear it starts spinning and then al the way through 2nd till i had to button off at the intersection, could have keeped it going but not enough road left
cheers everyone for your feedback, its good to get comments good or bad, better than none at all

I can tell you that there was not much skill involved, just loads of hours of thinking and preparation to avoid mucking it up and having to do it over again.
Yeah i have the same problem aswell, not sure why it takes a while to load up.
If someone knows a better place to host videos , please post up an address

i wouldnt spend tht much money on one, my mate got one for $2500 with work done to the head and 130ks on the clock, is only auto but pulls hard still.
i wouldnt get a 1ggze one cos they are quite a bit slower than the 7mgte but i wouldnt get a 7mgte with high k's cos they do like to crack the head on them
Ok so you wouldn't buy one. This is a 1g-gte not super charged and its making (apparantly) 280kw. They are good motors, and you can bet this one would be a hell of a lot faster than a dirty 7m. Plus its manual which are extremely dificult to find in good condition.
spelling mistake, would definatly not get (another) 1ggze, was ment to say 1g gte

its always those one aswell,
should i turn left and go home? , nah just another lap round the block
ahwell more motivation to get it cert/wof/regd
-
took it for a tuning run, was a cop standing on the side of the road with a radar gun about 300 metres up, got done for 63km/h = $80 , no wof = $200 , no rego = $200 , then he found out it wasnt running the diesel motor so on went the greeny.
mite take it to a shop next time, mite be cheeper than $480 for them to tune it lol

i was asking for it really

twin pulleys are not for anythng special they are just poor mans gilmer drives. it should have a little whine to it.
ive never heard them whine. i thought the whole twin idea was less slip etc?
has one belt on , and it has got a nice little whine....dont know why tho, being just like normal
-
they should let you in and call it "ex fours and rotary's

fired it up 2day!, didnt take long for it to fire into life, and once it warmed up i turned it off and now it barely takes a second to fire up.
still havnt hooked up alternator cos i dont know which way the spades go on.
went for a blat up the road with no seats in it, had to leave the door open so i could rest my back on the pillar, but it went nutty as.
anyways stoked tht it starts off the key and goes quite hard.
will put seats in tomorrow and go for a drive

speaking of old school car owners in AK, i followed a silver mk2 cortina over the harbour bridge on thursday, looked like a young guy thought he mite be off here....quite tidy looking
-
motor all painted up, looks alot better than before, as you can see i ended up forking out for a billet flywheel through green brothers of tauranga. $360 not too bad of a price, its a 10ib , i did want something a bit heavier but im not complaining, apparently the clutch turns up tomorrow
-
he is now trying to sell it for alot more than he paid apparently
no. not much more than what he paid for it.....just think of it as putting on your finders fee on top of tht price and advertising it to the public to buy
