Ok So the shell of the merc will be ready for paint in a wee while.

What im wanting to know is if i paint the shell now and the gaurds/doors/boot etc later am i going to get differences in the paint?

I will be using 2pac mettalic and it will be flat!!

If you mean travel in compression, and the car is bottoming out on the bumpstops then shortening the shock isnt going to do anything. If the car is bottoming out on the shock rather than the bumpstops, something is up. maybe you have removed the bumpstops? Normally you only need shorten your shocks if your springs are not captive at full droop, rather than compression.

i lowered car to desired height (sitting on the bumps) i removed bumps to see how much travel was left.. Shit all so i want to shorten the shaft to get back some travel then i can replace bumps with smaller ones and have the best of both worlds, Im certain the shaft still has a fair bit and max compression will check tonight

Car is sitting at the height i want !!

At this height it has about 5mm travel until the shock bottoms out.

Now if i get shock shortend say 2 inches will this increase the travel of the shock??

yeah 120 odd for flappers if you can get em for 50 let us all know, also dont paint if tyres are new will not work well, only paint if tyres are aged.

they only go up to 8 inch but if you get centreless rims you might be able to mash a 1 inch band in there aswell? They are about $300 for 4 so not very cheap.

Those wheels are just ag wheels anyway. I found some banging ag wheels for on one of those mean suzuki quad truck things and they were available in 4x100 but only up to 12 inch at that place. He said he got them from whanagrei imports, which is that big warehouse along the straight thats just after onerahi if you are heading to the heads. Apparently they bring in heaps of centreless and blank rims so deffinately give them a go.

If you do just get that cunt to widen them make sure he flips them too.

Hay people im after 14 x 9 barrels? They come that wide or would i be better of getting mine widened?

Also if so How much per rim? Anyone got hook ups?

So had a bit of spare time so i lowered the jettin jetta a wee bit, Will be lower once i get my wheels sorted.

Borrowed mates 15 x 8 sportmaxs for now offset didnt turn out to bad, need to roll gaurds tho rubbing a bit as the springs in the back are very soft.

As i said will be lower when new wheels are done 14 x 9s steels

Overall will look something like this but keeping the jetta lights.

And maybe tickle the epic powerplant a bit and have good times maybe a bit of track duty.
