Have done quite a few of these, if you want a high quality paint finish get it painted, they can look very good but its still just vinyl. 3m wrap film would be a 7 - 10 year vinyl, quality of the job will depend on the quality of your paint and the person doing your job, We have alot of problems with clear coming off from poor quality repairs etc. The vinyl comes as wide as 1500mm so if the person doing the job does it correctly there will be no joins, rough price to do it would be 3-4k including the film, hope this helps. Also if applied correctly no water will get underneath, only real problems are high stretch areas like bumpers where the vinyl tends to shrink back but there are primers etc to combat this .

If its just been sanded through on the edges or nothing bigger than say a old 50cent cent coin, dont worry about it just prime as normal.

The colourpak etch and primer in a aerosol can is good to use, I dont use k&H filler so cant comment on it

Also get decent bog, cheap shit is shit, get a good quality bog as it has anti corrosive qualitys

If your spraying clear you wont need to flatten your base, get your mettalic base spray that as per usuall, then spray 2/3 clear coats then on your last 1/2 coats of clear thats when you add your flattning agent, you only need a small amount otherwise it will go to grey,(try a test panel first), try your best to miminize overspray as stated before, you wont beable to cut it out, Ive done the same with a champagne met and it came out mint

I seens it.
I reakon seal bog/metal with a etch then tint a primer your guna get best (cheapest) results that way, theres no real way to go about it unless you fork out and do it proper. otherwise it'll just look like a usless c**t painted it.

I had same trouble with my w111. Had shit in my fuel and crapping out the fuel pump many times, I just put in a visable inline filter in and treated my rusty fuel tank.
