  1. id pay $250 for a good looking one but duno what it really costs to get them custom made ? i thought about makeing some templates etc and getting them cut out of alloy then just get two angles weilded to them and get a bar off another strut brace which is the right size just bolt it to it wouldnt be hard to find one close anuf could just make them to suit the bar ...
  2. thats cool mite even be worth looking in to getting a alloy sump if im gona put wings on mine sadly i dont got a mig really need to get one ....
  3. would it be posible to redrill the mount to bolt on to the escort strut for that one on trade me ?
  4. got any pictures of that sump yeah ill just run a average sized oil cooler the engine isnt gona be standard its all in bits at the moment getting a ful recon bored out to 2.1 crank rods getting balanced polishd and i spent abit on my head etc so id say it will need abit more cooling than standard ....
  5. i could fit wings on it but if i can bolt on a oil cooler and a bigger oil filter it will be alot easier and i get the added bonus of oil cooling id say one bigish one would be anuf would get at least another ltr with the oil cooler and hose's
  6. well i got a 2ltr pinto but the problem im faceing is i cut my sump down its about half the size to fit over the crossmember so im looking to get another ltr or so in the oil system
  7. hey there just wondering what you guys would suggest out my idea i was thinking of fitting 2 oil coolers infront of my radiator just under the grill and hooking them up in series i have twin 13inch electric fans on my radiator just wondering if that would be the best place to put them any ideas im thinking id have to upgrade my oil pump to a higher volume one.

  9. ah well that makes sence as the second one i used was abit diferent to the first one but i managed to get the stufted one out and use the other one got all 4 of them done tighten up good so thats sorted think i might have to invest in a good quality set are quite handy things have had many times when i needed to rethread something ended up just throwing it out and getting another one .
  10. ah stuf it all well i was on to the 3rd one and the tap snaped im slowly getting it out it just had to hapen didnt it lol i have another one the same size but it dont seem to work aswell carnt get it to start the cut off so mite have to go buy a new one

  12. i found acouple taps in my grandads old tool set 3/8x16 and the brands B.SW seems strong anuf and have found 4 bolts that thread in to a bolt that i retapd should i use special oil to tap them ?
  13. yeah ive seen them cheap sets at supercheap they look pretty crap think ill try get some HT bolts to replace them they dont look anywhere near strong anuf to hold a gearbox found some bolts which are off my old flywheel which id say will do the trick threads alittle bit bigger than whats in there how do i tell what type the thread is/size ? cheers
  14. mk2 escort gearbox mount. well i noticed they were crossthreaded when 2 of them fell out after abit of driveing not good took me ages to get the old ones out but the threads stufted i thought about drilling right threw and putting some big bolts threw has anyone had this problem before ? or should i just get a tap and die set and rethread them dont want to get pinged when i go for my cert cheers

  16. yeah your right they fittd my mazda anyway so not tomuch of a loss must say i did notice a incress in power and alot smoother running
  17. iridium plugs= bigger spark dont they ?
  18. has anyone ever heard of some one getting like inserts put in to the spark plug holes to take a diferent type of plug as i carnt seem to find a irdium plug that will fit my head and just got some one to order some they thought were the right size im abit anoyed caurse im more than likely gona be stuck with them now ive heard of people useing adapters that screw in to the head then the plug screws in to the adapter anyone got any ideas ? cheers
  19. well brought me a new head HARDEND SEATS, LAZER 300 CAM AND ROCKERS H/P SINGLE VAVLE SPRING MANLEY STAINLESS VALVES CRACK TESTED SURFACE GRIND FLOW BENCHED PORT WORK aparently the valves are larger 1.500 ex - 1.750 anyone know the standard size they dont look bigger :S allso started sound dampnering the floor with something i beilive will work same kinda stuf as that really exspensive dynamat just alittle bit thiner is used on building sites thermal seal around the windows etc seems to work quite well
  20. ive had this problem with mine what plugs are you running buy a new set there cheap as chips advice do not wirebrush them as i learnt from some one on here it stufs them allso get a voltmeter and test the resistance of the leads check if theres any build up on the dizzy cap / points allso could be a head gasket maybe get a compression tester i had the same problem with my 2ltr but thats caurse im running quad milkuni's lol pain in the ass they are.

  24. is it posible/legal to make your windows at the back go right down carnt seem to see anything stoping them on my escort any ideas ?
