  1. "Section 28 of the Land Transport (Motor Vehicle Registration and Licensing) Regulations 2011 allows drivers to obtain

supplementary registration plates that can be attached to objects such as dog boxes or bike racks that obscure permanent registration plates."

So does this mean they could potentially under law go on the outside of an, I don't know, say front mounted oil cooler - that happens to be blocking the normal plates? ;) Not that I want to, I'm allready over that fad before it's even happened, but just an interesting thought.

  2. Hahaha, that looks mean! Dished Hayashi's would be awesome, but don't think they come out 6 stud eh? Hahaha... Any chance you could put some black stealies on? As I realisticly won't be doing a hub conversion any time soon. That way I can show the Mrs and talk her into lowering it

  3. Man I wish I had/could photoshop! That superminx(?) looks sweet! ^^ Needs white pinstripes and patina

Hey could any one lower my van a bit (as in realistic) with black steels and whitewalls? (Or just steal the wheels off the above car hahaha)

And maybe see what it would be like with the vinyls removed?

Sorry it's a rubbish photo, did you need a better one? It's the only one I have ATM.

  4. Ahhhh... the decade that brought out some of the most annoying "door open"/"lights still left on"/"exceeding speed limit"/"reverse engaged" noises you could ever of hoped to of dreamt up... Buuuuuurrrrrrzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!

Oh and central locking that would open and close by itself on frosty mornings...

Oh and don't forget that gratuatis (is that how it's spelt?) amount of plastic interior! Gone were the days of seeing metal inside - "Cover that up with sq Km's of brown plasitc ASAP Mako-san!"

And electric ariels that would snap off in the car-wash cause your still listening to the radio - dogh!

Plastic bumpers too... mmmmmmm... "Mako-san!! Did you use all that plastic on the inside? What, there's still some left? Quick, make it black and start putting it on the outside too! Just the bumpers? No, put long strips of it down the doors as well! What do you mean it's ugly? Well then just put the model name and turbo on it then in any fluro colour you choose!"

Gone were the days of seeing much metal on the outside too... "Mako-san! Don't forget the door sills! What do mean we can't easily put plastic on them? Oh well, just put it underneath and full length - we'll call them "side trousers." No, wait, "side skirts.""

Short story finished - 80's rock! But more in a hair metal / atari way than a dirty hippie / folk pop way...

P.S "Mako-san? Don't forget the mirrors... Oh and Mako? Make em big, sqaure and black."

  5. Nissan is back in the supercar series after all these years?

    http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/ ... a65b2f3e8c

Bit of a daft report IMO, 'ironicly Holden legend Scaife is bringing Nissan back' pffftttt...

Good to see them back, as it will hopefully make supercar racing more interesting. As i get bord of ford/holden only racing. It's like watching a cabbage race a lettuce - technically they are supposedly different but they look pretty much the same to me.

Sadly it probably won't be the GTR though...

At any rate it'll be grand to see Nissan back at Bathurst:

  6. This is how we've been campin' lately, but this will change. Going to keep the middle row of seats and have a "fold down bed" type set up. Going to try get the Mrs to score some sweet new/old stock of Torleys flooring from work to build the base with. (only the finest) Tons of room to work with here, could come out nice and super functional with a bit of planning:

Radom camping pick to keep camper motivation high:

And yes... yes it was almost a triple rainbow... no lies! Too much is what it means...

  7. Go over on the weekend, and cruise around in the evening man. Fri/Sat evening you can cruise up and down the street. People riding all over the show and the police don't mind - I had about 15 people in the delica, standing room only with people all out the sunroof with the police following behind. You can't get fast anyway, maybe 10kph, so it's all harmless fun. Did get told off for a mate hanging off the side of the beetle standing on the running boards though. But they only told him off and didn't question the 9 people in the beetle! I can give you some sweet ideas for places to camp where you won't get stolen if you want hahaha...

  8. Hahaha, cheers mate. Yeah I agree with all of the above! Lowered on 16" steelies is the long term plan, but have to sort out a few things first. (like getting a new engine in the Mrs G11 charade as the big end bearing is hanging on by the skin of it's teeth)

I really dug your Homy too man, love your style :D Going to fully "borrow" your bump stop design. Is that cool?

  9. Discussion here - viewtopic.php?f=18&t=31260

So here's my new 1box - a 1984 Nissan Caravan - one of my dream cars. I had my eye on this car for years, and last time it was up for sale I couldn't sell my car quick enough to get it. This time round I made sure!

It's only done 106,000km on it's Z20, and going well. Not too much rust (mainly surface and mainly on the roof which is quite manageable)

    Features include:

    Sky high ride hight

    Moon roof

Air con to africa and back

Side window on the passengers door (awes for parking)

    LWB

    8 seater

    Factory alloys

All the perks of the high end "Silk Road" SGL version including the "waistbelt"

    5 speed manuel

    P1000961.jpg

    Solidstripe "likes this":

    P10009801-1.jpg

HELLAFLUSH / STANCEWORX etc etc etc

    P1000983.jpg

MEGA DISH / BOZO etc etc etc (thanks to my favourite double CD for helping, couldn't find a Barrel 51 can/cell phone/tamaguchi or any other such thing)

    P1000985.jpg

Rod Burgendy interior with little fold back table in the centre console:

    P1000981.jpg

    P1000986.jpg

Got a sweet sticker for it:

    P1000977.jpg

And also first things first, got some new old roof racks for it. Yay, but too small:

    P1000973.jpg

    P1000974.jpg

    P1000975.jpg

And that's despite all the extra feet it came with that supposedly change the size etc.

    P1000976.jpg

So a bit of modification to that will be needed. It was originally off an 80's Cressida or something.

Feels so good to be back in a Nissan. Compaired to the old delica, this thing is a brick! It just crusies! Doesn't get buffeted around nearly as much as the Delica did, it's really nice and steedy and comfortable.

Painting the roof and fixing one of the side windows will probably be first on the agenda.

The long term plan is to turn it into a sweet camper/cruiser/modern day kombi for trips and like. Should be fun :D Allready took it on a roadie around the Rotorua lakes and then up to the Coromandel (in the North Island) about two days after we brought it. All the back seats fold down to make a bed, chuck a blow up queen mattress on it and it's ubber comfy.

  10. It's nice to see that again!! Reminds me I must ask him if he'll let me borrow it as a wedding car. (maybe we could get both!!)

Mate, your gloria looks the bees knees and ankles in that colour. I really like it and reacon it'll look awesome once all the trims back on.

Give it a go and see what she looks like cause it might grow on ya. Would the painter give you a discount if you kept the colour for getting it wrong?

  11. Yeah I'd love to drop the front with narrow profile tyres and widened steels with large tyres at the back.

Yeah got new suckers for it when I renevated and modifyed the racks. Para Rubber shops should have an assortment of suckers that aren't very expensive. You should check them out if you need them.

They also sell long foam "noodles" that I got while I was there and cut the length down one side and they clip over the front and back so you can throw surfboards on them with out having to put them straight onto metal. FYI if your thinking of chucking something like that on yours.

  12. Wow, this hasn't been updated in forever! So here's the run down on the latest happenings, with photo's to come when I get a camera:

Had the rust cut out professionaly of the rear section around the vents and then failed a wof on a spot of rust in the floor pan where the battery had leaked. Not wanting it to come back, I got a brand new half pan put in at the VW Shoppee in Hamilton where I now live. So that was a couple of thousand, yay.

Also put a sweet external visor on and painted it white.

Still puts a smile on my dial aye...
