  1. Yup, would be at least 1 Ferrari that would do a 10 second pass too.

Also, off the factory floor rolling road tyres it won't have done a 10 second 1/4, That will be with the slicks, cam and other mods mentioned in the article.

edit: Ferrari LaFerrari and McLaren P1 (2014) are expected to be sub 10 second out of the box.

  2. I am unsure about the compulsory number of pit stops though, seems like a cop out way to ensure fuel consumption doesn't dictate the race, should have let the E70 or whatever they let them run earlier.

It is definitely a cop out! Whoever decided not to go the E70 route doesn't seem to realise that Nissan and Erebus will still need to take on more fuel during the pit stop (stationary for longer) and also carry more fuel during the race (increased race weight).

  3. just had a mental pic of pete on a pulsed owt tanga dozer with modgie centers for the tracks, flat peak cap, gang sign fingers, camo seat cover, dented k&n filter sticking out of the hood, gillyz.......

We need to teach you how to drive ms paint, because that Sir, sounds amazing.

  4. That Full Throttle karts outfit appears to have an outdoor track now? I'm super down for a hoon there one time too.

Keen to check this out. Twin engine karts too?

They appear to run a daytime format only (9-5) so might have to be a Saturday event. Will talk about it at the next meet.

  5. Bit of a boring vid and doesn't sound very impressive, but here it is at Hampton.

Basically just me catching that red thing but leaving it 1 lap too late for the pass (I had already passed my competitor on the second lap)

  6. I follow a supertouring car page on facebook and saw this comment pop up from someone who was a mechanic on an ST Ford back in the 90's. Very interesting!

Took us about 14 hours to change the engine in that Schubel car and sometimes we struggled to even get from the garage to the Pitlane without the driveshafts falling out on full lock! That coupled with the V6 laying over so far that it filled the front bank with oil and leaked water from what was effectively a porous block made for lots of hours worked in the summer of '96!
  7. It sounds like a good idea in theory, but will it definitely solve the oiling issues? Do you know of any super fast 306's or whatever that have run Hampton without failure?

Also, if it's so tall that it may cause issues and require a dry sump, would it not be better to freshen up a motor like you have at the moment and put throttles a link and dry sump on it? Would easily do that for 8k and not have any of the unknowns that go along with it.
