Oh while I was finding that think it has already been agreed upon.
Spence you dick, where are the regs that say there is no rpm limit because all I can find is that they are restricted to 7500rpm still. I know they are dyno'd to get the same curve etc and it sounds like the merc is doing more, but I can't find anything about it.

Links old, but it tells the concept behind the "chassis" in that Pace built the prototype and supplied some of the original chassis' or cages before the teams built their own jigs to construct their own chassis'.

Yeah, no point having mount panorama without taxi's. Don't need lots of different colours though. Race the car, don't look at it.

Perhaps it's easier to sell it than try and make it hold the smoke in?

I wanted to make an extension with no play that would move the steering wheel back quite a way. This is the existing spline that the steering boss fits to.
This shaft was drilled and threaded to suit the above. The above spline also had a slot notched into it at 90 degrees to ensure it won't be able to turn and un-wind itself.
Then a spline was put on the end of the shaft for a removable steering wheel boss kit.
It was rediculously cheap through a local engineer. I can't remember exactly, but something around the $100 mark including materials.

I did exactly that for my steering extension, just at the opposite end. I'll get a photo for you.

Are they standard Gemini springs? I would say they would lift the Chevette up quite a bit and you may even have trouble getting them into the front wishbones in full length. Probably best to hunt out a set of lowering springs for it. Torana super lows fit the front and make it quite low, and in the back Gemini wagon springs will work, but you might want to take a little bit off them and run shorter shocks to keep them captive.

I don't think it is just oldschool. Other clubs that I know of (and one I participated in 4 and rotary nationals with) also fell into the same trap. This event seems to just be a money making business like anything else, and regardless of how many "spots" you purchase for the event, you get what you are given and have to make do with that. It is not a great culture or atmosphere at the event either, and while it was good to promote oldschool (and even get a couple of awards), we have been burnt by these events and wouldn't encourage other regions to bother supporting them.

Where is that from? I was whinging the whole race because of the lack of coverage of anything outside the top 10, or with a badge other than Ford or Holden for that matter.Oh and the mercs only doing 17 laps vs 25 or whatever it was for the Holdens is ridiculous, really need a better solution other than forced pit stops. The last 30 laps or so were rad but with only the two (I think) safety cars the forced pitstop thing made the race weird, or was that just me?
Did you notice there was no speed trap on con rod? I can't help but think it is because they didn't want people seeing how much slower the quad cams are down there.
It's a conspiracy I tell you!! Aliens!

I don't know if you saw it but the crowd were booing the Holden drivers up on the stage afterwards. Pretty much just Whincup (and probably Luff) actually.Ok? There were some maggots around but pretty tame really. Especially considering you can just rock down trackside with beers/10l of gin.
We decided if a Nissan wins again the driver will have to pull out the "you're a pack of arseholes" call just for old times sake, even if the crowd doesn't boo.

I need surround sound so I can hear those sweet Merc's better.
KK the cars might have sounded similar across the top of the mountain for some reason, or perhaps as they develope the Nissan and AMG engines they are sounding more similar to the Ford and GM's. When we were in Melbourne at the start of the season you could easily hear the difference between the types of car as they went by, but there was a bit of variation within the sound of the Holdens.

Fuck yeah, that was SO awesome. We'll do the joint venture a.s.a.p. I reckon, now that the rest of us have a slight advantage having been on them already
There were showers, thunder, rain and sun, but we managed to have 2 x 10min runs on a relatively dry track. The 2 engine karts are heaps of fun, but no so much when one of the engines cuts out as Keegan found out.

Success! Very rarely do people photoshop a car and then actually make it better than the PS

^yeah, priorities aye.
Hmm, could be tempted to pop around for a watch. I've got a borrowed iSky password to get me started .
Sounds good.

I've heard vipbox.net is good, but I can't find any suggestion that they are going to screen Bathurst.
If you get stuck give me a bell. It will be on all day here with beers and BBQ in the evening. I'm kind of stoked it has gone to sky. Sure Sky sucks, but the coverage is 100 times better than it ever was on free to air. They are showing live qualifying and top ten shootout, rather than a crappy highlights package for 20 minutes before the main race on Sunday. Plus it won't be cut off for the news, or be moved to channel 4 at 6 o'clock. No delayed races now either.

Cool, let us know what the plan is. Earlier the better (within reason) for me, we have to head up to Coromandel for a birthday that arvo.

Appears to be $35 for 10min, $60 for 20min.
Are non-forum members welcome to make up numbers?

Only trick with ABS that I'm aware of is instead of starting furtherest away from master, make it furtherest away from ABS unit. In a VR Commodore it appears to be next to the master so it shouldn't make any difference (start at left rear), but some cars have them across the LHS of the engine bay in which case you would start on the right rear.
